Oh come on, I know all of you do it. Even if your spouses are aware of it. When done correctly, manipulation can be an effective tool when having loving, healthy relationships
I'm feeling pretty proud of myself. When we first moved Jared up to Seattle, his job said they will reimburse the $150 a month fee for his car parking spot at his apartment (yes, it costs an extra $150 a month just to have a parking spot...darn downtown Seattle). Jared has been in Seattle since June, so 6 months times $150/month equals $900 we should have in our bank account. Only thing is, November is almost over and Jared hasn't filed the paperwork yet for this reimbursement. So finally last night I told him if he submits the paperwork to get reimbursed before the end of the week, $600 will go towards our Disneyland tickets and the rest of the money will be his Disneyland spending budget.
Lo and behold, I get consistent text updates from Jared today saying he got the receipts from his apartment showing we paid the fee each month, he submitted the paperwork to his work, and got the approval for the reimbursement. Before 10am. Funny how he just needed some sort of incentive to get going. Muahaha.
Some may call it reasoning, but its totally manipulation. And I'm proud of it. We both got what we wanted
Anyone else "reason" with their spouses? hehe
Re: Manipulation

The thing he doesn't know is that he is getting an xbox one for christmas, as long as I can get one. Someone asked me what I am going to do if he tries to buy one. My answer was: he won't. He would have to ask me about money before buying it, and I can just tell him we don't have enough.
Oh, and I have to do the time thing too. That is all he would do if he could. Usually it is: you have 10 minutes before we go. Everything else can wait till I go to bed.
