Blood After ST? (TMI)

There was enough to make the tissue I cleaned up with look a little like I had a bloody nose. I noticed a very small amount of very, very light brown tinged CM/discharge earlier when I'd gone to the bathroom.

Do I need to worry? Because I'm panicking a little. And I don't think I can get a hold of anyone at my doctor's office; they just have the emergency line on the weekends.

Re: Blood After ST? (TMI)

  • I had bleeding off and on from 6-9 weeks, but it wasn't due to ST, just random. You probably just irritated your cervix. I know that's not terribly reassuring and you'll probably still worry (like most of us do!) but I think you will find that a lot of us had spotting or more early on. I'm sorry you're having this problem.

  • I have no experience, but spin is wise! It seems very common. I hope it's just irritation, and it goes away quickly so you can relax! I know it must be easier said than done though

Thanks @spin25. I've had slight bleeding after ST a couple of times previously, but it hasn't happened in quite a while, and obviously never when I was pg! I do know that some spotting can be perfectly normal, so I was trying not to let the little bit of light brown earlier get to me, but then cleaning up after ST I freaked out a little at the bright red.

I'm probably going to end up running to the bathroom every 20 minutes while we're at my friend's party tonight to check on the situation!

  • It's likely irritation and is very common, but for your own peace of mind you can always see your doc on Monday. I spotted after ST my whole pregnancy with my son, as well as in the first tri, but it still made me nervous. Obviously I had a healthy baby in the end.

I also spotted brown from 6w till the end with the partial molar so I am now not convinced brown is always no big deal. Not trying to make you more nervous, but I just want to be real. It could be nothing, could be something.

  • So long as you don't have pain or cramping, you should be fine.  Spotting is somewhat normal, especially after ST.

  • My doctor told me that if you have spotting you should not have ST for a few days after the spotting goes away. I think he said 3 or 5 days? I know that sucks but I would think it is better to err on the safe side. I hope it stops soon!

    Stupid mobile.
I had bleeding early on too after ST, but it was nothing. Just try to relax about it and take care of yourself. It is common and I hope you can see your Dr. soon so you'll get a peace of mind.

  • I had a fair bit of bleeding from 5-10 weeks... Like enough that I considered going to the ER on more than one occasion. ST made me bleed too so we avoided until our first u/s just in case.

  • I know you will syill be nervous (I would be/was too) but your cervix has so much added blood flow to that area. My doctor said it is like the inside of your nose on a cold day. If you shoved something in there repeatedly itwoukd probably bleed, and with the tissue that your cervix is made up of. I hope you can get it checked out soon to ease your mind! <3

  • Thanks again ladies. It did continue to run a little over the course of the night, but nothing heavy or clotted. My first appt isn't for another week and a half. If it's better today, I'll just avoid ST and wait until my appt. If I'm still having it, I'll probably call tomorrow and see if I can get in there Tuesday or Wednesday just so I can relax.

I was hoping not to have bleeding, even though it's common, just so I wouldn't freak myself out like this! Haha.
