Yay for a short week!
How was everyone's weekend.. and what are everyone's plans for Thanksgiving?
I finished up our advent calendar & attached a pic.
So.. lets talk food. What's your favorite Thanksgiving dish?
I love my grandpa's sweet potatoes... that have more 'sweet' than 'potato'
BTW, I told DH about our gift exchange, and he thinks it's crazy that we still chat on here. His comment "what wedding stuff do you still have to talk about." Haha.. boys.

Re: Manic Monday
Thursday we'll go to H's grandparents' house about an hour away for dinner -- 20+ people crammed into a very small house is not super fun -- and leave early. I will have to finish up some work from home (I KNOW) and then Friday we'll go to the airport at 4 a.m. to go to MEXICO. I am so pumped.
I don't really love Thanksgiving dinner so my favorite food is probably something boring like the turkey. I know I'm the weirdo.

My favorite Thanksgiving food is gravy lol. I cover everything in it. We are hosting Thanksgiving, just 2 friends coming by. I bought a turkey that is already prepped for the oven and you put the whole bag in the roaster. I hope it's easy. Then I'll be making mashed potatoes and stuffing. I haven't decided yet if I'll do my dad's stuffing from scratch or do Stove Top. Dad insisted I should do his, but his "recipe" was just telling me the ingredients and no measurements because he doesn't really know what he does lol
Favorite food is the stuffing. I don't think H understands why I'm on here so much but he's ok with it.
I'm working thanksgiving. I'm leaving the hospital early come hell or high water. For dinner we are going to my aunt and uncles house. My two cousins will be there. Along with my grandmother and my uncle (aunts brother).
We are hosting 15 people for dinner. This is our menu:
Appetizer/munchy for the early people:
Galletes with shaved zucchini and Parmesan
Dinner:
Fried free range turkey
Italian style homemade stuffing
Regular stuffing
Mashed potato
Roasted sweet potato with spiced apple cider reduction
Carrots with toasted pecan and brown sugar glaze
Green bean casserole
Roasted veggies; Brussel sprouts, cauliflower, potato mix
Dessert:
Apple pie
Chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream frosting
Almond white cake with vanilla buttercream frosting and blackberry mascarpone filling
And lots of wine.

My weekend was good. I got a part-time job for the seasonal, so I worked there Friday night and Saturday. It's at the mall, so it's CRAZY busy! I went and picked up my ring Sunday - I finally took it to solder (sp) them together, and had to resize them.
I love holiday get togethers! For Thanksgiving, we're going to DH's family. His mom is hosting this year. I'll go out shopping with my sister that night though.
As for food, I love just about all of it. I can't pick out a favorite item. I'm taking a sweet potato casserole and a pumpkin crunch cake to his family.
Zero - your menu sounds amazing!
Sdose - have fun in Mexico!!

We're hosting thanksgiving here and I'm stressing on it. We had a rough week as a family last week and little man is sick still so it's just been crazy. I keep forgetting things I need for dinner. So chances are good I'll be missing something. Oh well. Maybe that will teach my mom I shouldn't be in charge of holidays!

Athlete good luck with the crazy holiday crowds. I can't handle them.
