EOD method and OPK question

Yesterday I got my first high fertile reading on my clearblue digital so we had ST. Usually I get 2 days of high fertile and 2 of most fertile. Today, day 2, I got my most fertile reading. My goal was try and have ST EOD but I'm now nervous I might miss my chance if my fertile days are cut in half. WWYD about the ST timing? Should I just do it tonight, do it tomorrow AM, or skip the whole 24 hours and do the EOD?

Re: EOD method and OPK question

  • If you already got the high reading, I would do it tonight and tomorrow sometime.  If you are going to catch it, 24hrs between sessions should be sufficient.

On the other hand, I think you should do whatever you think will make you the most at peace in the 2ww knowing you gave it your best shot.  If that is tonight, tomorrow morning and tomorrow night - do it :)

    Good luck!

  • Remind me, has your DH done a SA? If the results were good, I'd go ahead and do every day, if there were any issues stick with EOD. But when in doubt, BIO!
  • I always looked at positive OPK readings as a last chance to BIO.  Hopefully, you've already had sex close before getting the positive (so that the sperm is already there waiting) and then if you don't have any known sperm issues, do whatever works best for you (ED or EOD) until confirmed ovulation.  GL!

  • I used the clearblue digi as well and was used to having 2 days of each, like you.  Last month I got my most fertile reading on CD 10 (way early for me) and we just happened to have ST the night before. We did it again that night (so 24 hours later) because it made us feel better. By the next morning my levels were back down (so I only had one most fertile day that cycle). I agree that you should do whatever makes you feel most comfortable and like you gave it your best shot.

    Good luck!

  • What the other ladies said. I didn't use OPKs, but temped and tracked CM. DH and I stuck to EOD even though I had o-pain and ewcm on a day we didn't have ST. I'd do what you think is best and what will put you at ease for th the next two weeks.  Good luck! FX this is your cycle.

  • @blueeyedblossom - DH hasn't done his SA yet...   >:P

Thanks ladies! I guess I will feel better knowing I DTD on my peak day... Since we haven't had any testing done it's probably my safest bet for now...

On the bright side I'm going to O earlier than last month! Woohoo!

  • I would say to stick with EOD.

Only say this because you have normal cycles, and this isn't in your first couple of cycles.  So if there happened to be any MFI, then his boys have had some time to "rebuild" before the next time around.

Although, if you feel that DTD will make you feel like you gave it the best shot, then go for it.  You know what you're comfortable with.

  • I would probably stick to EOD since you don't know if there are any male factor issues. But, whatever you BOTH feel comfortable with is fine. Sometimes my DH would be on board for daily ST and sometimes he wouldn't feel up to it. I went with what he felt up for most of the time.

    Good luck!

  • Don't kick yourself for having ST yesterday.  Even if you were to O today, that would be perfect timing.  Or if you have ST tomorrow, and you end up Oing tomorrow, then that's great timing too.  So either day your timing will be good.

  • I would go with EOD. That is what most REs suggested with TI.
