When did you first feel baby move?

I know I am still early for this, but I know a lot of FTM can feel the baby this early.  I haven't felt anything at all.  When did you first feel the baby move?

Re: When did you first feel baby move?

  • I was 18 weeks when I definitely knew it was baby and not just gas.

  • I felt my first flutter around 18 weeks.  Very inconsistent, maybe felt something one a week. I am now feeling consistent movement, and I am 22 weeks, and this started last week.  Do you know if you have an anterior placenta?

  • My first taps were around 14 weeks, but that is pretty early for a FTM. My mom didn't feel movement with me until 18ish weeks.

  • I was 19 weeks when I felt my first "I know for a fact that was the baby" kick. It was really inconsistent though until about 24 weeks

  • I felt flutters, like being tickled from inside, starting around 14-15 weeks. Nothing was consistent. Around 19 weeks, I started getting serious "pokes" that were no doubt kicks or punches. Now movement is very very consistent.
Congrats to my TTC buddy Madeline! Cheering for all the strong 3T ladies!

He hasn't mentioned that I do or don't.  So I am assuming I don't if he hasn't mentioned it?

Have you had an U/S lately?  That's really the only way they can tell I believe.  I had an anterior placenta with both my pregnancies and found out at the A/S.  The first time, the tech just mentioned it casually and the second I asked specifically about it.  That being said, I think I didn't feel movement until about 20 weeks or so with Delilah and maybe around 18 weeks with Zack.  And it didn't become more obvious and consistent until around 22 weeks or so.

The last u/s I had was around 11w2d for my NT scan.  I just know I have a friend who is a week behind me who was already told she had an anterior placenta and still said she's feeling movement this past week (she's like almost 15 weeks).

It's comforting to see that most of you didn't feel it until a few weeks later, so now I can worry less!

  • I felt my first definite kicks/nudges at 19 weeks. Looking back, I know I felt a few flutters here and there, but I'm not even sure when those were since I didn't believe they were legit. Surprisingly, DH felt the kicks/nudges at the same time I did. Since then, I've felt something every day.
