  Ummm...one Easter my aunt told me that my dad smoked pot..this was like 30 years ago, but I was still so shocked, haha!

  At a family dinner, my dad accidentally let it slip that his father ran over my aunts dog and ended up having to put him down. They had told her the dog ran away or something like that. It was kept a secret for about 40 years. My aunt ended up crying at the table. We laugh about it now....well everyone except my aunt.

  My grandpa, after a few whiskeys, said he would have been fine not having kids...lol!!! (He wasn't a mean guy, I think he just meant he could have lived with grandma forever and been happy.)

  It wasn't a big family gathering, but we had a few people over when my grandma died.  My mom took it hard and was drinking.  During the stories about my gma, my mom told us how she went to her mom (my gma) about having another kid (me).  My mom had a miscarriage, and my dad didn't want her to go through another one.  Well, I guess my quiet reserved gma told her to poke holes in the condoms.  And here I am!  I was quite disturbed.

  One year, just as we were about to start eating Thanksgiving dinner, my aunt told us that she was pregnant with one of my younger cousins!

  Closest thing coming to mind right now--My cousin asked to see my engagement ring during a New Year's Eve get-together...before I had told my parents (who at that time were absolutely against their precious baby ever getting married) the big news.

  Thanksgiving in 2010 we announced our first pregnancy (our son) and on our wedding day we announced our second pregnancy (our daughter)
