The ladies of my family all get together for holiday cookie baking. We make spritzes (my fave!!), ginger cookies, what I like to call nut balls (fluffy little ball-shaped cookies with crushed pecans), and anise cookies. It's an all-day affair and we make dozens and dozens of cookies to split amongst us all.

I always do peanut butter balls which are a huge hit around here. Regionally they are not well known so I am the only person I know that makes them. I also do No bake cookies which are my favorite.
This year I am going to do sugar cookies to decorate, cheesecake squares and maybe minty Oreo balls and maybe something else. I made biscotti one year and that was fun.

My family does TONS of cookies for Christmas. Between my 3 aunts, mom, grandma, and me we split the baking. I usually make chocolate chip, oatmeal, sugar/spritz, chewy chocolate and red velvet. I try to throw in a new cookie each year too. My grandma makes two of my favorites which are cocoa butter sticks and walnut balls (not the nicest name, but that's what we always called them). My aunts and mom also make about 3-4 different kinds of cookies. Then we make plates to share and as gifts for family and friends. It's going to be so hard to bake all of these cookies and not be able to eat the dough this year
. Totally worth the sacrifice though!
