Christmas gift for mom in rough patch
My mom is going through a rough patch right now. She's is going through a divorce and money is tight, so she is currently living with a friend until she finds her own place to live. Because her vehicle is in her soon-to-be ex-husband's name she may be losing her vehicle and will only have her motorcycle to use for transportation. For Christmas this year I'd like to help her out a little financially. I don't want to give her cash because I don't want to get "that" started and I wouldn't want her using it for something like cigarettes (and I know you shouldn't attach stipulations to a monetary gift.) I talked to my husband about it and we both thought that a gas gift card would be a good idea. She could use it to make sure she has enough fuel to get back and forth to work and the grocery store. I wanted to know what you guys thought of it.
