Re: WTF and Open Letter Wednesday

  • Dear anyone who comes into contact with me today,

I am truely sorry. I am crabby and I dont feel good and would rather be in bed today. But I have to be at work instead.

    Love,

I will trying to be better tomorrow.

  • WTF Sister - our parents have supported you for 37 years, including paying for your kids school clothes and you to borrow their truck for 3 years (YEARS!)... Grow the F up!  Just because you don't need their truck right now, and they didn't feel like going to your house to watch a UNC game 3 weeks ago doesn't mean you can start ignoring them.  I think they are tired of making excuses for you, something I did 5 years ago.

  • WTF...me.  THis is no time to be sick.  I have too much to do the next couple weeks.

    Dear Parents of my preschoolers,

I know it is hard for you to take time off of work when your child is sick, but it is not fair to give them Tylenol to cover their fever then send them to school.  These children are old enough to tell me when they had red or orange medicine.  Coincidently, they get a fever about 7 hours after you dropped them off.  I now have to take time off to go to the doctor for my cough, & fever that I have.  Next time I give you a courtesy call about your child and you pick them up early, they will not be allowed to return the next day.

    Sincerely,

Someone who will be stricter with our sick policy.

    Ugh that sucks!
  • WTF work....a coworker/friend just went back from maternity leave and is worried she'll lose her supply because it doesn't seem as though they care to accommodate her need to pump. She was told she may just need to supplement then. The same would apply to me when I go back. Um, no....I will not be changing my plan of EBF for 9-12 months because you don't want to figure out covering my breaks...they better figure something out in the next 3 weeks before I return.

Um.. isn't it a law that they have to accommodate you? I'm not sure because I didn't EBF but I think it might be. That's messed up that they won't accommodate you two! I hope they figure it out.

  • WTF NEST!!??  Why can't I post in Internet Explorer!!??
  • @uderin02  They legally have to accommodate you if the company has 50+ employees. I would talk to your boss now so that you're not waiting for him to solve it with your friend....be your own advocate. Also, talk of boobs makes most men uncomfortable- so be graphic, lol.
  • Yes it's the law. I understand sometimes we don't have extra people to cover us...not my problem. Some days it's hard enough to sneak away to pee or get water...but it's not like I'm mad because I can't have a smoke break...it's to feed my child! My boss who said it is a woman...hopefully when I tell them that I WILL be doing it throughout the day, it's enough...if not I'll go to HR. these are the same people who tried to tell me I couldn't take 12 weeks leave...until I pointed out that legally I'm entitled to it because we meet all of the requirements....
