When did you know the honeymoon was over?

My Mom always said the honeymoon was over when about a year into their marriage my Dad had to use the bathroom when she was taking a shower and he stunk up the place. (YUCK!) For my husband and I our honeymoon was over when he got a nasty ear infection and I had to help him swab out his ear gunk and help him with the application of his ear medicine. (It was pretty darn gross, but hey you do gross things to help the one you love) What disgusting thing made you realize the honeymoon was over?

Re: When did you know the honeymoon was over?

  • I guess my honeymoon was over before we even got married. I'm used to all the husband's grossness already :P

    Same here.

I think when I got sick for months is when it ended. Well it was more like put on hold. Once I started to feel better we were all googlie eyed and all over each other again.

Haha! H and I were on our honeymoon. It rained all day one day and we stayed in our room sitting on the porch and drinking. Didn't think we needed dinner...or lunch...(always a wise choice), had a great night talking, and drinking, listening to music, and drinking, dancing, and drinking...if I have too much to drink I get very sick. I don't vomit. So you can guess what happens. I came back to bed after my fifth time into the bathroom (that didn't have a fan) and he said "you know I can hear everything in there". I said "well, guess we're married now!". We still laugh about it.

Yep.  I think the honeymoon was over before we even started dating now that I think about it.

  • 6 months into dating I got a stomach flu so bad I was sick over 20 times in 12 hours. My now husband bundled me up in my car with a kettle in my lap and drove me from our dorms to my parents house where he stayed up with me all night. It was definitely the end of the honeymoon for him, but it made me realize I should never let him get away.
