Temping question V vs O

How do your temps differ when you temp vaginaly compared to orally? Is one normally higher than the other?

Re: Temping question V vs O

  • I think vaginally is generally higher than orally. But don't hold me to that.
  • Okay, so on average when I O around CD 15 my CD 23 temp is around 98.5 but I always temped orally. I bought a new thermometer this weekend thinking I'd start temping vaginally because I've been sleeping with my mouth open. My vaginal temp this morning was 99. Does 1.5 degrees seen too high of a difference or about right?

I wouldn't switch temping methods in the middle of a cycle. FF won't know the difference between the oral temps vs the vaginal temps and will just see a temp shift. You might just need to suffer through the oral temping the rest of this cycle even if it will be inaccurate because of sleeping with your mouth open.

  • @luckyangel07 I temped orally until O but my temps were not showing much of a shift at all because of my sleeping so I switched my chart to OPK method. I haven't temped since O bc I figured there was really no point. Anytime I temped it was between 97.9 -98.1 which is too low for my normal temps after O.

I'm definitely not going to rely on it, I just wanted to see what my temps were like toward the end of my cycle so I can tell around when AF will arrive.

  • I don't know. But I don't think you can rely on what you get either way to confirm O since you didn't temp vaginally the whole cycle.

    GL though!
