Facebook - is this possible?

I was dropped by someone I was close with on FB. They claim they did not delete me. Can FB just delete your friends? a glitch? or person is lying??

Re: Facebook - is this possible?

  • Could be a glitch, but I bet they dropped you and just didn't want to admit it.

  • I accidentally deleted people before. I was going through and "cleaning" up my list of friends, deleting some people. Well my computer is slow to refresh, so I was just going delete happy and then my computer finally refreshed and several people I meant to delete were still there and several who I did not mean to delete were gone. Though I have no way of knowing who I accidentally deleted.
  • Did they add you right back once you mentioned it? I was also thinking maybe it was on purpose.
  • I suspect they are lying.
  • i have known facebook to glitch and accidentally delete people from friend lists. It happens.

  • If they're talking to you about it, why does it matter? It was probably an accident or they were hoping you wouldn't notice. If they were ignoring you now that would be one thing, but just add them back and let it go.

Also, why was this posted on the MM board?

  • I had fb drop several people, and I didn't even notice. One was my boss, and it was very awkward to recover from!

  • I don't understand why being dropped from facebook is even a thing.  There's not much about facebook that's real.  We all heavily edit our cyber lives to make our real lives look more interesting than they really are.  And don't even get me started on how narcissistic the whole thing is.  Of course I have a facebook profile... because what could possibly be more interesting to all 800 of my friends than MY LIFE and MY THOUGHTS.  Especially the thoughts and comments that are entirely unsolicited by external conversation - those are the most important of all because they were generated 100% by ME.

I'm sure I've been dropped by people.  I wouldn't have noticed.

  • I don't notice drops either.  It doesn't really matter to me.

  • @janessadawn what's to you where she posted it? But while we're on the subject, I assume that studio link in your siggy is not your business as that would be against community rules: http://ideas.thenest.com/information/about-the-nest/articles/community-rules.aspx
  • I've been dropped by people-usually because we don't interact IRL anymore. I only notice if they're very heavy posters that suddenly disappear. I'm too lazy to clean up my friends list myself!

I noticed because it is a close family member. You would think family members would not do such a thing and have as many ways to contact one another just in case something has to be communicated.

I posted here because there is a lot of random stuff on this board as well as the busiest area of this site.

  • We're you able to tell whether or not it was an accident?
