Happy Saturday!

What's everyone getting into today?

Dh and I are thinking about going to Ruby Tuesdays for lunch and then to see Catching Fire.  Has anyone seen it yet?  If so, is it any good?

Re: Woohoo, weekend!

  • @Xan921 - Have fun at the movie! I haven't had a chance to see it yet, but have heard from multiple HG fans that it's REALLY good!

For us, DH's BFF is coming up to visit (hopefully he gets here before it starts snowing too hard!). Later, we're all going to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch the ASU game (I've heard it's sorta a big game?). Other than that, just hanging out with my DH and the pups, running errands, and doing laundry.

  • Catching Fire was actually really good!  I didn't think it was too far off from the book.  Enjoy!

Today we're heading to town to get groceries and do some banking.  Then I'm set up with Tastefully Simple from 1-4.  Tonight is the city board Christmas party.

Tomorrow is what I can't wait for.  H is getting baptized and becoming a member of our church.  I'm so happy and proud of him.  Coming from a family with no religious background, and a dad who thinks it's the dumbest thing in the world.  To having it be the center of his life.  I'm also really proud that his dad is coming to watch this happen.
*And now emotional me is getting teary eyed.  Back to my morning coffee now.*

  • @brij2006 - I love Tastefully Simple! Are you throwing the party? I don't know anyone who is having one this season, so if you want the extra stuff, let me know. I'd love to buy something on your party!

  • Today I plan on laying in bed and napping all day so I feel better. R and I are supposed to have a date night for our dating anniversary that is tomorrow. We have already changed our plans a little bit because of this stupid pneumonia, but I really don't want to completely cancel everything!

Tomorrow will probably be a lot of laying around the house.

I hope you ladies have a great weekend!
  • Happy weekend GP!

Today I'm just doing laundry and cleaning our bedroom because it is a horrendous mess. I can't even remember the last time it was cleaned, so you can only imagine...

Later Tom and I might do some Christmas shopping. I also have to pick up a bridal shower gift. Tomorrow is the bridal shower.

Also I want to bake cookies but that's for selfish reasons lol.

  • Catching Fire was SO GOOD!! I want to go see it again. I liked it sooooo much better than the first.

I need to look up grain-free dog treat recipes to see if I can make some for my pets group secret santa. If I can't find any, I'm going to dehydrate some sweet potato and probably either chicken or liver to send as treats.

I want to try and get some Christmas shopping done at some point, and once DH gets the boxes out of the shed, I can start putting out Christmas decorations.

But before any of that, I want eggs and bacon. But the bacon is frozen. :-(

We have an Ugly Sweater party to go to tonight. Tomorrow I'll be grading tests and essays. Woo hoo!

  • We are almost back from Dallas. It was a complete mess! I'll probably crash on the couch when we get home even though one of our friends will be there to watch football with dh.
There are a lot of different craft things that I need to be doing though. I need to finish making some Christmas gifts and finish making our cards. I also have a few Christmas crafts that I was to do for the house, but they always get put on the back burner.

What part of Texas are you in? We are in Austin and went to Waco for the Baylor vs UT game. It was ridiculously cold yesterday!  We started driving back at 10 and got stuck for about an hour on 35.  Good times.  :-L

  • Happy Weekend Ladies!

We're just on our way back from Toronto where we went to a friend's annual Christmas dinner. It's so much fun to get together with these guys DH has known for about 30 years (he grew up in TO). He has such great old friends.

Tonight we're going to put up the tree and decorate the house.
