Happy Monday!

Hellooooooooooooooooo out there!!

I'm still at my mom's. Yesterday was my little sisters college graduation. It wasn't a real commencement ceremony, just a reception, but it was nice! Short and sweet! We got some snow and ice so they have a 2 hour delay here, which puts me on bus stop duty for my niece! My mom has to go to work, my older sister is at work, my little sister has her last day of student teaching today, and my stepdad&nephew are playing hooky to hunt! haah! Good thing I'm here!

My college delayed today...that's weird. What kind of college delays? Really they just cancelled finals for this morning. So anyone who had an 8am final this morning has to make it up on Saturday. I'd be so mad if that was me!

How was everyone's weekend?!

Re: Happy Monday!

  • I can seriously not believe its two weeks till Christmas pretty much! Holy cannoli! Where did the last few weeks go? We're hoping to finish our shopping tonight. We just have to buy for the ils, ds' Godparents, a few things for ds and a birthday present for our Goddaughter. Fun!!

Our weekend was busy but good. Awkward Christmas party was awkward - I don't get the point in wearing lingerie out in public. A lot more people participate in costumes than last year. We got some more cleaning of the spare room/ds future big boy room done. We moved out the shelves and are now just going through everything that was on them. I'm not sure moving it all since most of it is likely garbage anyways.

    Welcome back degrea!
  • Helllo. Happy Monday. Pretty icey roads today. My commute wasn't to bad but some of my coworkers had some rough roads. We were productive around the house yesterday which is always nice.

Good luck with finals this week jlq. Glad you had a good weekend back home.

Echo I know 2 weeks! Eek. Sorry the party was so awkward.

  • Ugh. Don't remind me about Christmas! I still have to buy for my niece&nephew, and DH! I have no idea what to get him. He really wants a recliner, but it's not like I can just go pick one out and I hate not having anything for him to open on Christmas if I got him a card saying "I owe you an recliner".

Aggie - Glad you made it to work alright! I know it got pretty bad in some places! Thanks for the luck, I'll need it!
Echo - I can't believe people wear lingere in public...that's just weird. I can believe it was awkward. Glad you got some of your cleaning done!

DEGREA!!!!!!!!! Come tell us about your vaca!!!!

  • Seriously and were not talking like young people here like they're 30++ so it's not like they're in a stage of needing to impress people. So bizarre!!

Dh and I don't do gifts really. We might spend $20 max just to fill stockings.

By needing to impress people I mean like feeling so insecure they feel the need to impress people. If that makes sense. Oi. Dh and I wore our matching pjs from a few years ago. Only 2 other females were as clothed as I was.
  • Good Aftrenoon!!! Sorry my morning was taken up by checking email and playing catch up. I had 130 emails in my inbox. Vacation was nice. I didn't get as much reading done as I would have liked but the book I choose first was a slow read as it was technical book not any fluff! It was hot down there, in the 80's! We spent a lot of time on the beach and by the pool. Food was okay but nothing knocked my socks off. The beverages were super yummy! I had a lot of magritias, discovering mango and coconut as new fav's. We went to Tullum (Mayan Ruins) the one day which was alot of fun. They were different than the ruins we saw in Europe. The rock seemed to be craved more if that makes sense. They were also located right on the ocean so very pretty. The wedding was nice and right down on the beach. I unfortnately caught some bug down there and by the end of the wedding wanted to go to bed early, I made it to 12:30am, a lot of the people were out till 4am I guess.

All in all it was a good time and I am glad we went! I personally probably wouldn't choose to go on a vacation like this again as it really isn't our thing. We would much rather be out exploring than laying on the beach. It is good to lay on the beach for a few days don't get me wrong but by Thursday I was over it and ready to go home.

Echo: I will need to go back and read about this party! Sounds crazy though!

JLQ: Christmas is right around the corner! It is nuts! I need to start planning out operation cookie...awwww!

Aggie: Glad to see you got to work safe and sound. A lot flights were cancelled into DC last night, that Philly and Chicago! Luckly we made it home with no problems!

  • I'm glad most of your trip was good degrea! Crappy about the bug! No fun!!! I'm not a big beach person either. We did Jamaica for our honeymoon and will likely go back for our 5 year but we made it active and the resort we were at had lots of free excursions.

I really want cookies!! The problem with being grain free is there isn't a lot of cookie recipes. I should make some while I enjoy nap time perhaps...but nap time is likely ending soon so maybe tonight/tomorrow.

I just took our infant carseat out of the box and I feel like it's taunting me.

Yea this resort didn't have a lot of excursions that were free and a lot of them involved getting on a boat. WIth my motion sickness I don't do boats. How many more weeks do you have left Echo? I can't remember when you are due.

  • 3 weeks left!! Due on New Year's Eve!! Cannot wait!! I'll be full term tomorrow and I am so ready to go anytime!
  • Getting Close!!! So excited for you!! I hope you go sooner rather than later. As Day After Christmas Baby myself it does suck a little to be so close to Christmas!

  • Sounds like your vaca was good, minus picking up the bug!

I can't wait to make Christmas cookies! I should have lots of time since I won't have classes and will just be working. I don't think we're going to do the cookie exchange at DH's school, last year we got crappy ones.

I have my A&P "final" tomorrow. It's really just another exam with a few review questions thrown in, but we covered this stuff in such a hurry I'm nervous.

Word.  Being 3 weeks from Christmas definitely has its downsides.

  • This baby is doomed either way with being close to Christmas. My sisters bday is the 30th and she may have hated it growing up at times but I think we did a good job separating the two. I have a crazy feeling about having this baby next Tuesday but it probably won't happen.
