@Rev and anybody else who likes hist-fict

I feel like it's been forever since I've read any hist-fict, and I think I might need a break from The Kingkiller Chronicles and YA. Any suggestions?
I'll be listening to the audio if that makes a difference.

  • I also like Karen Harper. Mistress Shakespeare was good on audio.

    My favorite Cake Wreck ever.

  • Are you looking for historical YA? If so, a buddy of mine writes a series for Simon & Schuster that's about spy girls in Queen Elizabeth's courts. The first book is called "Maid of Secrets," and the author's name is Jennifer McGowan. It's really good. I tore through it in a day.

  • Michelle Moran's Egyptian stories are good too. The Heretic's Daughter was good on audiobook. Also enjoy Kate Morton & Susanna Kearsley! I listened to The Other Boleyn Girl & enjoyed The Constant Princess so I'd expect some of her other audiobooks to be decent.

  • What about Ken Follett's Fall of Giants (set during WW1) and Winter of the World (set during WW2)?  Both were completely fabulous as audiobooks.  They're really long, but IMO that only makes them better.
  • @nova I just added you on GR :)

and I was going to add Michelle Moran's Madame Tussaud.
