AW(NGPR): Holiday gift giving

So after a few other ladies made suggestions for affordable, crafty gifts, I went hunting for a good holiday sugar scrub recipe and settled on a peppermint sugar scrub. So easy to make! Anyone else make something fun and crafty for holiday gifts? Let's see 'em!

  • I don't think I have a picture, but last year I filled a large mason jar with homemade hot cocoa mix, complete with some mini marshmallows.

I make my own body butter, too, and paired it with a brown sugar oatmeal body scrub as a pre-wedding beauty gift.

Here's the body butter in jars. I can't find the body butter/scrub combo once it was all finished and labeled.

  • @nfp147, here you go!

    Body Butter (link)

    Sugary Oatmeal Scrub
1 C each of brown sugar, raw oatmeal, and olive oil.

You're going to want to stand over a plastic bag or towel or something when you scrub this stuff on. It gets all over the place. If you do it standing in the tub, have something to catch it all at the drain when you rinse off, or the oatmeal could probably clog things up. And be careful, because the tub will get slippery from the olive oil!

@LuckyAngel07 - Those are great recipes! Thanks for sharing! I can't wait to try out the body butter recipe…. Seems like a great use for my Kitchen Aid stand mixer…. Where do you find shea butter though?

  • @Futuremrswright2012, I order it on Amazon! That's also where I get my coconut and almond oils; they've just got the best price for them there! And if I'm not mistaken, all of the brands I use are organic to boot!
