So Friday we had our office holiday party. After 3 years here (and thanks to one friend who left the company earlier this year after having her first LO), I finally have a few "work" friends, so I naturally hung out with these ladies on Friday, especially during the after party at a local brewing company.
I've known one of them had started trying to get pregnant, and (thanks to several drinks loosening my tongue and my reserve) we got to talking. She and her husband just hit the year mark. She confessed to undergoing all the testing, and they just did their first round of IUI about a week ago. I told her about my m/c, and that it had taken almost a year and a half just to get that first positive test.
I kind of feel better knowing there's someone IRL going through this stuff with me. I know one other close friend who had a m/c between her first and second LOs, but she's never had any TTTC (I think out of her 3 boys, technically only 1 was really "planned"). I think I might ask her for a recommendation to her RE and more info. She said because she had the IUI done in his office, all she paid was the specialist copay, even though our insurance technically offers no IF coverage (I'm curious if it'd really be covered, or if she just hasn't gotten the bill yet?)
No real point to this. It just felt good (on some level, crappy as it is for us both to be going through this shit) to connect to someone IRL who "gets it."

That's good that you were able to talk with someone IRL, and now have someone you could chat with about this.
It's honestly crazy how many people that have gone through this stuff, but most aren't open about it.

I'm so glad you found someone IRL. I remember being sort of relieved to find someone who was going through a similar experience. I think it was because there was finally someone (besides H) that I wouldn't have to explain my feelings to, or explain that it's been over a year, and with charting/temping, I can say it's probably not 'just bad timing.'
It really helped, and continues to. I hope you find the same!
After 2 years of TTC, lots of tests, and a Hysteroscopy/Laparoscopy to remove several polyps,

But yeah, it's comforting to have someone to physically talk with. There's just something about being able to sit down across from someone and look them in the face and have that physical connection in the conversation.
