Today's the day..

The teddy bears have their picnic!

Happy Monday!!

I slept like shit last night! Yeah. My sil isn't coming today to help with the daycare so hopefully it's a good day.

We did nothing all weekend but laundry which was nice. First weekend in forever with two full days of nothing planned. I packed my bag for the hospital too which is a relief because I just wanted that done!

Re: Today's the day..

  • I thought you were going to say the baby was coming! Booo!

We had some friends over for a turkey dinner last night! It was a lot of fun! We basically had a full Thanksgiving meal. hahah! Then we played games and (I) drank lots of wine. hah!
I'm going boot shopping with my one friend today. And then we're finally going to see Catching Fire! Can't wait!!

Echo - Booo for not sleeping well! That's the worst! And I agree, a weekend of nothing can be so nice!

  • After I posted I totally thought about it seeming like that might be what I was going to say. I've had a lot of mild contractions all weekend but I'm thinking that's just going to be my reality until this baby comes!

    I would love some wine!!!!!

Dh and I just watched the hunger games on netflix last weekend. It was very different than I excepted it to be. My sil has the books and is going to lend them to me.

  • Good Morning! Just another day at work for me. I only got five types of cookies made this weekend. Hopefully I can get two more baked tonight.

Echo: Sending you baby come out vibes!

JLQ: Sounds like a fun day/evening! Good Luck boot shopping.

  • Cookies!! We're baking tonight apparently. I think two coffee cakes - one for our brothers dinner tomorrow night and one for dh's potluck at work Wednesday. We have to bake a few dozen biscotti this week too!
  • Sounds good Echo! Do you bake gluten free as well?

  • We bake grain free and sugar free. It's fun! Lol a challenge but fun.
  • This will likely be the coffee cake we make. I made it last month and it's yummy!

  • Huh!! Well it looks good but looks like a huge pain in the butt to find recipes that would taste right. Especially when it cames to bake goods or cookies.

  • It is hard. Luckily I've found that website and it have never been disappointed by her baked goods.
  • Did you choose to do this because of allergies? Not judging just curious.

  • Don't worry Echo, I drank enough wine for you, too. hahahah!!

I'm finally finished Christmas shopping for DH! And I managed to get all his gifts wrapped today, too.

I haven't made any Christmas cookies yet! I'll probably be doing them every night this week after I get off work. What kinds did you make, Degrea?

Echo - I agree, I think it would be really hard to bake grain/sugar free. Props to you!

  • We eat this way because dh is likely gluten intolerant. He was diagnosed with IBS years ago and was always on drugs for it. Since switching he's gone off his meds. We follow the paleo diet with some modifications (we eat cheese) and both feel better for it. I lost 20 lbs between kids by not eating grains, sugars and processed foods.
  • My older sister is supposed to be gluten free, only she's an idiot and doesn't follow it so she still has tons of stomach issues. I give you guys credit, I don't think I could do it! I try to eat healthy, but it's hard.

  • It's definitely been hard but informing ourselves on the benefits has helped. Also seeing the difference in dh's health is amazing. He was on meds 3 times a day and still in pain most days before we switched. It's a challenge because we make everything from scratch pretty much but we've also discovered a lot more good than we would have otherwise.
