I'm genuinely curious about how they'll pull it off without it being porn. But.... I'm undecided on watching it. *Maybe* I will rent it.

I said no to seeing it. I haven't read the books and while I'm curious about them, from everything I've heard about the books, this movie may border on porn-like (and it would be very uncomfortable in the theatre).

I haven't read the book, so I don't plan on seeing the movie. Maybe when it comes on HBO or something...

Nope!! The books might have become wildly popular, but all reviews from sources I trust indicated that the writing level was shit, and I've got some pretty high standards when it comes to writing style. So, I haven't and won't read them, and I don't think I could sit through a movie that was pretty much all about domination and submission. Not my thing!

Not interested at all. I've heard it's badly written. And if I wanted to read that type of material, there are better writers with better books.

I downloaded the first chapter and tried to read it, but it was so horribly written I just couldn't continue. That being said, I likely won't rush out to see the movie.

I've read all 3 books, and will likely go with one of my friends to see the movie. But like others, I'm curious as to how they will pull it off without the first movie being a porno. At least the last 2 books had more of a story to them.

Ehhh, I liked the books. Certainly not for the writing quality, they were the most terribly written books I have ever read. I'm just going to come right out and say it: I liked them for "women's version of porno" factor. Hubby and I haven't had such a good bedroom life since we first started dating.

I will probably see the movies once they are on netflix. I have no burning desire to watch them right now.

I will definitely go with a girl friend or SIL to go see this. I loved the books. Didn't really care how they were written, I enjoyed them and I couldn't stop reading them. I truly enjoyed them and just wonder how they are going to make a movie out of them. I mean, the 1st book was pretty dirty. Lol But I guess I am the odd one here. I am excited and was glad that Charlie Hunnam isn't playing the part, didn't see him as Mr. Grey... So we will see!!!
