Do you have any plans for New Year's Eve? Do you have any resolutions or goals for 2014? Are you looking forward to anything in 2014?
Re: New Year!
We don't have any plans yet, but we'll probably go out to dinner and drinks with some friends. Or maybe keep it low key and just have some neighbors over or something like that.
My resolutions/goals are pretty much the same as last year! Trying to go to bed earlier, read more, blog more, spend less time wasting time on my phone, etc. I also want to keep up my running and fitness routine, I have really been slacking.
I am hoping that I can look forward to having another baby! Also in 2014, Mason will be going to kindergarten and I'll be turning 40. Woo hoo!
New years day we have no plans right now.
My goal for the year is to do a better job backing up digital photos. With photography as my hobby I have A TON. I have them backed up on the external hard drive but I want them all on an online site as well. It is tedious so I am slowly working on it. Ideally I'd like to organize the files on the external better but probably not going to happen. Considering my computer crashed I have to wait till I get a new one to start all of this'
I'm looking forward to Jake turning 6....the last half of 5 has been hard on all of us, and I'm hoping that 6 will bring better times. I'm also looking forward to the wedding of a close friend in July, then Brian's little sister's wedding in November!
Jake - 1.15.08
Liam - 5.17.11
I would love a baby in 2014, but if it doesn't happen it may just be time to throw in the towel and fully embrace the one and done strategy. I would also like to keep up with my fitness goals. But I need back into that now or else I will be starting over. I should be busy at work next year, so being able to focus on that more will be enjoyable. And finally 2014 should bring lots of home projects our way. Which I love turning this house into how we have always envisioned it.
No NYE plans here. It's really hard because I hate to be on the road that evening with potential crazies, and we'll have the kids that night, so we'll be home bound. I'm not that close with neighbors that we have a GTG with them, and I'll most likely be asleep by midnight myself anyways.
2014 means I'm turning 40 and I have mixed feelings about that. The summer will be surrogate baby's birth so I'm looking forward to that for the couple. We're also going to Disney in February which will be nice. It will also mean the start of potty training for my son so I'm dreading that.
My "resolution" is to stick to our planned budget so that all our credit cards are paid off next year. Getting more fit would be nice too, but I have to put that on hold / alter that a bit now.
No plans as of right now either. We usually do low key and have a few people to our house or go to a friends, wear our pj pants etc.
Well 2014 should be interesting with new baby coming in May and just getting everyone ready for that, rooms etc. I can't believe Madi will be going to kindergarten in the fall. Yikes. Hoping to get back on the exercise bandwagon after this baby.
I'm looking forward to moving and being first time homeowners. We're moving in February and I'm so excited! My spring semester starts on 1/14, and so does my clinical assignment. Between school, moving, and being a mom, my goal for 2014 is to not go crazy.
In 2014 I'm looking forward to Todd going to Kindergarten. I think he's anxious to learn to read and we are certainly looking forward to the end of mortgage-sized daycare bills.
Once we make that transition I plan to reexamine my job situation/goals/etc. And hopefully 2014 will bring more work on the house that we started this year!
2014--This will be our first full year in our new house.
DD will be heading off to Kindergarten this year as well and talks about it non-stop. Nolan will also be starting 2 year old preschool.
DH is looking to elevate his business that he has been starting over the past year. He's done well so far, but is looking to increase his volume.
For me--I really need to get a handle on my health. The last few months have caused my weight to climb significantly. So I need to figure out if it is my own doing, or if there is something deeper going on.
Wow - time flies!
2014... we'll start it off celebrating 8 yrs of marriage. There are days I still can't believe we made it past that first 18 months!
We have a couple of trips planned (Long Island in early Summer to celebrate my parents' 50th anniversary and Ireland for a wedding in the Fall) and we hope to buy a house and start really settling in. I'm not sure if we'll be able to swing all of that, though.
I also have decided that I need to do something for myself, since I'll be turning 29, for the 11th time.
I'm either going to take up running or knitting, or something. I also want to skydive to celebrate - not sure if DH will let me though - I think he's going to make me up my life insurance. lol
I'm also looking forward to finally getting down to one daycare bill next Summer, as Conall will go to full day preK4 at school with Gavin next year - woo hoo! While there is a charge for it (parochial) it's still cheaper per month than daycare.
As for NYE - we don't have plans as of right now, and don't expect to. With it falling in the middle of the week, and I am working on the 31st and the 2nd, I doubt we'll do anything more than something small with the kiddos. I already have a bottle of sparkling cider for the kids and might get poppers - we can celebrate the New Year in Ireland with them - which was always 7p, but now 6p with us being on Central Time. Probably find a movie to watch with them as well. We're very low-key.
My three sons!
I'm feeling very motivated to goal set and make 2014 a great year. God willing we'll have another baby or at least be pregnant. I would prefer to be in better shape than now when that happens, so I need to refocus on my health.
Other than that I have boring goals like working to save more money and get the house ready to sell at some point.
We are going to Latitude 40 for their "countdown til noon" event. It sounds really fun!
As for 2014, we plan to really get the house in order, painting, repairs, etc. so that we can finally put it on the market in the spring of 2014.
We are going on Nolan's Make-A-Wish trip to Disney World in April so we're really looking forward to that!!
As for myself, I really want to get back into running and better shape overall!
We go to my parents house. I hate driving on the 30 minutes at 2 am but we do it anyways. The kids stay up for midnight better than I do.
As for my 2014 plans...I going to try not to curl into the fetal position when dd goes to kindergarten and little dd goes to preschool (my babies!!!
( ) and hopefully get a deck or a finished basement. I can't decide what would be more beneficial at this point.
A also plan to have perfect hair and make up every day, never be tired and never yell at the kids.
