Keeping with the work theme...Does your work do any celebrating for the holidays?

Re: qod 12-19

  • We just had our annual Holiday party on Friday. We have it at a local Italian restaurant chain. A few years ago we went bowling and that was fun!

  • Yes we celebrate pretty much all of them. For the big holidays we do a huge potluck. Like Easter, Christmas, Halloween etc. Its pretty awesome. And in our little post closing department we do something for everyones birthday also. We are those people that are always celebrating something LOL

  • Nope! We celebrate Christmas day since it's just my parents, my brother and I in the business. However we usually do a little something with H's work like we give hi boss a gift and they give us one. This year he actually got a bonus and then the boss' wife made everyone a tin of brownies. She makes the best brownies!
  • We do a pot luck lunch and a secret santa

  • We are currently doing a secret Santa (one gift a day under $1 Monday through Thursday and a bigger gift under $10 on Friday. ) it's been super fun! Last Saturday we had our holiday gala which was in the ballroom and lobby of a local embassy suites, festive formal attire. Lots of dancing, Chinese raffles, amazing food. Last year I won a TV!

  • We have a holiday party DURING the work day. I work for a human service agency that has a counseling dept., support for adults with disabilities, the childcare center (where I work) and the administration dept. While the people in the other departments can shuffle their work for a few hours to attend, the people in the childcare center can only go to grab food and bring it back because we can't leave the children alone.

We have a new development director and a new agency director as of this year so I am hoping they see this idea as TERRIBLE and give us a real party next year.
