Re: Thankful Thursday

  • I'm thankful my betas are down to 0. And it looks like I O'd a few days ago. So I'll be able to close out this year and quite literally start fresh come 2014 (with AF in town and all).

I'm thankful this is probably the last Thursday (except for in special circumstances) I'll be working in the office. I submitted my revised form yesterday to work from home starting in January on both Tuesday AND Thursday. :)

I'm thankful for being able to finally purchase a new laptop. I've got the field narrowed down, the money saved up, and will be pulling the trigger after Christmas. Yay for new tech!

I'm also thankful that it is going to be in the 60s this weekend so we can take the dog to the dog park to get some of his energy out.

Because it's usually 0 or in the negatives with the wind chill, at 5am here.  So 28 felt warm. :-(  I already miss summer.

  • Chocolate.

Now I smell chocolate.  I am NOT thankful for that because there is none.

I AM thankful that tomorrow is Friday.  I have a department meeting from 9-11, which will include breakfast and a gift swap and then our company holiday party starting at 1 at a really nice local Italian restaurant. So I won't be at my desk much tomorrow and that makes me happy. Also, a bunch of my coworkers are planning on going to a local bar after lunch and SOs are invited.  I love meeting everyone's SOs!

This would turn me to winter hibernation in a heartbeat. It would take a fortune to outfit me in warm enough gear to to stay out there running for long enough to make a difference, haha!

Thankfully I am an outdoors person, and get antsy staying inside on the treadmill.  So this one outside run a week helps break cabin fever. My outfit is quite comical though. You would think for being a runner in the midwest I would've invested in some sort of crazy winter running gear. Nope. Just wear 3 layers on top, and 2 layers on the bottom.

  • I am truly thankful for my hubby.  I had a horrible day at work yesterday and he let me lay on the couch and relax while he took care of my stepdaughters and cleaned up.

I am also thankful for the client of ours that sent my company FIVE boxes of chocolates, flavored popcorn, candies and other goodies!  I may or may not have had an all chocolate lunch...

I seriously could never go back to a "regular" job. For all the crap I put up with here, they really treat us well when it comes to time off.. every other Friday off, starting at 3 weeks VC, plus we have shutdown. Just when you get super fed up, you get time off so it kinda makes you forget the crap temporarily lol..
