We did this for Thanksgiving here, and saw this on another board... thought I'd ask here.
What's on the menu for Christmas?
Doing brunch/lunch/dinner?
Are you hosting... cooking everything or are people pitching in?
Or going somewhere... taking a side dish?

Re: Let's talk food.
I wish we could host Christmas. I love to cook and decorate for that type of thing. I tried to get DH's family to come over, which they cancelled last minute. DH said they would never do that (come to our house for Christmas). That may change when we have kids, just sayin'.
We usually do my family in the morning, which means breakfast. We alternate years between my house and parents house. It's at my parents house this year.. she hasn't decided what she's making yet. I might come up with some cute decorative dish to take.
We will go to DH's family late afternoon for late lunch / early dinner. Now, remember how they won't come to my house? They are doing take-out Chinese. For me, that's not Christmas dinner. But oh well.

H's grandmother normally does a huge spread. She has 6 daughters so they help out a lot, but there's normally 25-30 people at her house for holidays. I might make some spritz cookies Monday morning to bring up with us because I can't really contribute anything else.
Christmas Eve we go over to his parents and do Christmas with his immediate family. In the years pass, his mom has done a stouffer's lasagna. I'm not sure what she's doing this year.
On Christmas, this year, we're eating lunch with my family. Since my mom didn't host Thanksgiving this year, she's doing a turkey and who knows what all else. She does everything, and doesn't have anyone bring anything. But it's just my grandma, aunt, and uncle that come over.
After lunch, we'll head over to his aunt's and hang out with his extended family.

This Saturday we go to H's grandparents' house, about an hour away. It's actually a huge pain in the ass, as the house is teeny and there are about 25 people crammed into it. Lunch is pizza delivery. ugh. It's fine -- H's grandma is really old and refuses to let anybody else cook there, so that's that. Then all the kids unwrap gifts and it's kind of annoying, but we won't be there long.
Christmas Eve, we are hosting H's dad, mom and two sisters. His parents are divorced, but they still like for the whole fam to be together. I don't know; it's kind of weird. Anyway, we are making prime rib, party potatoes, Oprah's holiday salad, spinach-artichoke dip and then I'm making a frozen banana split dessert that is so midwest and so delicious. Anyway, that night is fun because H's parents will wrap us tons of little gifts and we get humongous stockings full of candy which I always take to work because it's ridiculous how much sugar we acquire.
Next weekend we'll drive the 4 hours to my parents' house and my mom is the best cook. We usually do crab legs and peel-and-eat shrimp, party potatoes, and too much food in general. All my sisters' kids are older (13 and up), so they usually hang out the rest of the night and I'm in charge of making a fun winter booze drink and we play cards. I haven't figured out what drinks to make this year, but I'm gathering ideas.
Christmas afternoon/ night we are at Hs uncles. There is normally chips and dips to munch on. And the meal normally consists of lobster, steak, and sides of some sort. Again we bring wine.
I'll probably make and bring my rosemary potato bread to both gatherings. I've been lazy and haven't made it yet for the holiday season.
For both of our extended family Christmases we're having a taco bar type food thing. I'm only taking dessert since we're going from one right to the other and I'm not sure we'll make it there before dinner starts!
