Sorry for being MIA. I'm trying to catch up on all the posts. So my last check in was almost a week ago. Graduation was great, packing was busy. We wanted to rent a 10 foot haul but they only had a 14 foot one so they gave us that. Way overkill for what we had left. Drove to my parents house in KS on Sunday. It's a nice half way point. Unloaded the truck that night at their house. They are storing almost all of what we had left for us. We do have a storage unit here but we were worried it wouldn't all fit. Returned the truck and rented a small trailer to bring what we did need on Monday. Finished driving to Denver and unloaded Monday night. I was so pissed and ready to cry when I got here. I knew P hadn't done much unpacking but it was way worse than I thought. There wasn't much floor space so we were just stacking what we carried in. I felt like I was on an episode of hoarders. I've spent my week unpacking, organizing and trying to settle in. We still have a dining room full of boxes that need to go to storage. I have a small pile of boxes in one corner of my living room - my books - that have to wait for a bookshelf. We also had no food so Tuesday I had to go to the store and then I was back at the store yesterday so I wouldn't have to go next week (hopefully). Lily is napping right now and I just finished wrapping presents. They were all for her from us, and the grandparents. There is only one present for P and one for me. Which we don't mind. Financially it's stressful. Still no offers on the house. Not sure what we are going to do since we can't afford to keep paying rent and a mortgage. And we used most of what we had to move so we are waiting on the reimbursement from P's work. I know we will work it out. I'm trying to be in a holiday mood but it's been a long week and I'm not there yet. I'm hoping to visit my grandparents in Cheyenne either this weekend or next. My grandpa is having major problems with his eye and the doctor is worried he might have a stroke. So any T&Ps you can spare for him would be appreciated. He is scheduled for surgery on Jan 6th.
Re: Checking in
Jen and Aleigha - any plans next weekend? Maybe we could hang out or go do something. I'm not sure what your days off are during the holidays, Jen, so I didn't suggest a weekday but I'm open on those too.
