DH was so proud he bought my Christmas presents without using a list. He bought them online without checking our account first or asking me how much he could spend. I checked the account this morning and he spent $200! What?! Holy crap! We don't have that kind of money. I only spent $20 on him because we didn't have a lot to spare. I was thinking at most he would spend $40.

Edit: to shorten

ETA: I just talked to DH and he said he lost track of how much he was spending and he will fix it. I thought he would be mad at me for saying anything, but he wasn't. I am still super nervous though.

Re: freaking out!

  • I'm frankly worried about it from my end, since I spent a whole lot with the xbox, which he's said he doesn't think we can afford. Maybe next year it would be best to come up with a dollar amount before hand. J always asks me what he can spend on me, but he asks me what he can spend on anything because I deal with all of the financials.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. If you've talked to him about it, and he responded well, you shouldn't have a problem, and I'm sure whatever he got you, you are going to love.

  • I do all the finances.  Never gave Joy a limit.  Never had to worry about it.

  • Our finances are good too. I spent $100 on a wedding band for David and that's it, but I am nervous because big packages have been delivered for him from amazon the past 3 days.

He obviously got me more than I him... And all I really want is to go to Vegas.

@jtmh2012 I do all the financials. I should've given him a limit just because we are on a tight budget.

The thing is last year when we were both working and it was just us he didn't spend a lot. Maybe $40. Now this year, the year I am a stay at home mom and we are now a family of 3, he spent $200. I know why too... he bought from 4 different websites and didn't see 1 large grand total. I am sure if he saw the $200 on one bill he would've adjusted the order accordingly.

    I want this too!
  • I am the one that tends to over buy for him and he feels bad.   :\">

I don't think he is getting me anything to open on Christmas, but I know that Vegas will be my present.

I got him pans- which I told him about.  And really are for both of us.

But I snuck in some fancy shaving cream for him to open.
