I just wanted to let you all know that I found out this morning that our bank account was hacked. We are in the negative for hundreds of dollars and I am feeling very un-trusting right now and am taking a step back from the internet. You'll notice that my blog, my blog Facebook page, and my Facebook page have been deactivated. I am also going to stop posting on TN and TB for awhile. I just wanted to let you all know what happened and where I went. Hopefully I'll be back soon but right now, I just need a break.

    We'll miss you, but I completely understand. I have several different emails that I use for different things for this reason, so my more unprotected information (posting on here and the Bump, buying or downloading) isn't connected to anything with my real name or financial/government accounts...

    I know it can still happen to anyone though and it is scary.

    FYI - My break didn't last long. We found out that it was tied to the Target scandal so I'm over my fear of the internet lol

    Ugh that sucks, but I'm glad it's not something worse and it can hopefully all be fixed soon!

    My H always advises people to have their emergency fund in a separate account that is not owned by a major institution (ours is at a local credit union) in case something like this happens. So glad you're back. I heard that affected a lot of people.

    This is awesome advice. We have our money spread out so, while it hit our checking account - and hurt - we still had access to other accounts that weren't connected to the affected one.
