starting my registry

how far along were you when you started your registry?

we don't have our A/S until Jan 8th, but I'm going to be selecting all gender neutral items anyways so I'm considering starting before then

Re: starting my registry

  • We already started ours.  I feel so overwhelmed by it all!  But I plan to have all the big items gender neutral anyways.  Where are you going to register?

  • I was 12-ish weeks or less, I think.  I just put some random stuff on there until I was further along.  I purposely registered early since BRU's registry deal was supposed to end in November.  Since they keep pushing it back further and further, turns out I didn't need to register so early!  :)

  • ok so its not too soon for me to start!

I plan on registering at BRU and maybe Pottery Barn or Target...I don't really know

  • I started online early when I had the urge to shop. Post a/s, when I felt up to it, we went and finished them in person :)

  • I think I started at 12 weeks.  I wanted tons of time to research each thing and it takes time.  My shower invites are already out and I'm still making small changes here and there.  Honestly, you can't start soon enough.

  • I started them like LB online as soon as I had the urge to shop. I changed things throughout but not a lot and we were team green so everything gender neutral. I think we did the in store ones shortly after a/s. I have a lot of family out of state who wouldn't be coming to a baby shower but might want to send something so I wanted it to be ready.

  • I was around 12 weeks. I just put boy and girl versions of each big item.

I added most of it after the a/s though, since I knew the sex.

IMO it's never too early to start doing your research, even if you don't start a registry.

  • I was around 17 weeks when I started  really researching things, and around 21 weeks when I actually went in and started registering. Just keep in mind that some things may go out of stock by the time your shower comes along (especially clothes), so just maybe start with the basics now, and add on later.

  • I started mine around 18 weeks, I think? I had my a/s around 18.5 weeks, and then I added any gender specific stuff after that, but I already had major stuff done.

  • We wont register until 26 weeks (DH wanted to wait til 30, 26 was our compromise). We are just overly cautious. That being said, we did a lot of our initial searching/researching for the twins so we already had a few things in mind, we just made the quantity one instead of 2.

  • I feel the same way about this as I do with maternity clothes, sooner the better.

Also, don't forget things for 6 months plus. I LOVE love Love when I need something for them now, I have it. It's also lower price points:

    Examples:
Sippy cups, baby spoons, paci holders that clip on. At least 3, extra extra pacis (size up), those bowls that hold Cheerios without them spilling out, baby food bowls, tethers, the little teether that looks like a raspberry. Both v&e LOVE them. Bibs bibs bibs. Socks with rubber grips on the bottom (if you have hardwood or tile). Bottle nipples for the next size up.

Girls: hair bows, ruffle socks, tights, diaper covers. Diapers are so ugly in pictures IMO. Winter babies need hats, summer babies need hats. I never thought of how often our kids would need a hat! Always!

Boys: I can't recall any special things I need for V.

White long/short sleeve onsies. I love the clean white ones.

    That got long.

We started after the a/s. Gave us a better idea on what we wanted. We had our shower early as well (26 weeks) because of the twins. Im so happy the hostesses decided that because I can't imagine doing it now at almost 34 weeks. I'm so tired and achy!
