baby back ribs

How do you make them?

I have no idea what I'm cooking for the Christmas party but baby back ribs sound awesome.

Maybe with corn on the cob......... I don't know lol.

Help me ladies, please!

:)

Re: baby back ribs

  • Hmmm it might be hard to find corn on the cob this time of year.

My parents usually cook them on low for a 2-4 hours in water and season them a little. Then they take them out and finish them on the BBQ grill. Not really grilling weather so that probably isn't much help. We mainly have them during the summer.

  • Dam it that's true.

    I'm bad at this.
  • I just made these today for our Christmas with the inlaws!  Slice up the ribs into chunks so they fit into a 9x13 pan.  Put in about an inch of water.  Salt, garlic powder, bbq sauce then cover w/ foil and bake at 400 for about 2-3 hours.  Remove foil, add more sauce, bake another 30 mins uncovered.  Perfect.

  • Can you make them with mashed potatoes?  Or cornbread?

  • Oh, and for sides I did mashed sweet potatoes, rolls, and roasted veggies.

  • I rub them generously with a mixture of brown sugar, garlic, onion powder, salt, cayenne pepper, and black pepper. Then wrap in heavy duty foil and put in the fridge over night.

Before cooking, I'll add a can of soda (dr pepper, root beer, cherry coke etc) into the foil packet and close it back up so it's tented (not tight).

Then I bake at 325 for a couple hours until fork tender. Open the pack, coat with BBQ sauce and place under the broiler for about 15 min until it starts to blacken. Serve with more BBQ sauce.
