my H's baby name has been taken!

so H's name is Bernard, which means bold as a bear. H would like our child to be a jr. if its a boy. so he wants to name him Bernard but call him Bear....

and now the name is taken -

My boss's name is Bernard, nn Bear. He said there are countries where he is actually called Benjamin. He's from Belgium. I know it is not there but in a neighboring country. So Benjamin could be on the table.

Thank goodness that baby's name is Bear Winslet and not Bear Rocknroll!

Also, I think Bear is a cute nn, but not an appropriate legal first name unless your dad's last name is Rocknroll.

We have a friend that is nicknamed bear! He looks like a bear and is in a punk rock band in Philadelphia.

I had forgotten all about Paddington, I loved that show!

I think it's a cute nickname. It seems to be a trend now giving it as a formal name though. The chef Jamie Oliver also has a kid named Buddy Bear Maurice, but his other kids names are Poppy Honey Rosie, Daisy Boo Pamela, and Petal Blossom Rainbow so.......
