One for the Money - movie

I watched this on Netflix last night while wrapping presents.  It was cuter and funnier than I expected, and I only have one complaint.  Sherri Shepherd as Lula was my favorite casting, but (I know I'm complaining that a movie, for once, stayed true to the book in this aspect) Lula just didn't have that big a part in this movie.  I can completely imagine how hilarious she would be during the shenanigans that she takes part in during later books.  Surely they could have squeezed SOMETHING in?

She makes me want a sequel.  Or a spin-off.  Maybe Lula needs her own TV show.

  • I haven't seen the movie yet. I was afraid to  be disappointed (lame excuse, I know).

Lula cracks me up. If I remember correctly, in book one, she's not as goofy as later in the series. Maybe being a reformed "ho" made her more lighthearted. I also remember book 1 as being darker than the rest of them.

Yup!  They didn't become friends until after book 1.
  • I enjoyed this movie but nothing will be as good as the books. Also book 1 wasn't that great, it really takes a few books to get into the series. So I doubt there will ever be a second movie. We may need to cross put fingers for a lifetime movie.

And yea, Lula didn't have a big role in book 1
