Budgeting tool besides MINT.COM?

Hi Friends.  One of my 2014 goals is to actually follow a budget.  We (I) have used MINT in the past, but would like to try something else.  Is there anything you would suggest? Thank you much!

Re: Budgeting tool besides MINT.COM?

  • Honestly I gave the best luck with my excel file. I can make it do what I want and set it up as I please. It's gotten quite elaborate through the years.
  • I also just use Excel, but I check all my accounts daily and others throughout the month.
  • I have an Excel file as well. I found Mint would record most transactions inaccurately even if I tried to correct it; it also kept telling me I was going over budget on fixed transactions. It was way easier for me to be able to record what I needed to and how I needed.
  • Yeah I use excel too - or rather, a Google doc with the spreadsheet function so I can check it on multiple computers.  Mint.com is crap.

  • I just use excel as others have said- I've had something set up since 2008. We add tabs, make modifications as things change. It's a nice way to look back over the years too.

  • Another one for Excel.

You can just Google personal budgets, and there are many templates out there you can download.
