Hi Ladies,

Hope everyone had a nice holiday.

So updating you on all the shennanigans going on over here... LOL

Finished a clomid cycle and went to the fert. doc who has been tracking everything...got the go ahead to try this past weekend and we did. So now i have 2 weeks or so to wait and see if we got a positive result. God i am so hoping this worke this month.Things have been weighing heavily on me with the non sucessful attempts to get pregnant. December 1 marked 1 year.

Please say a prayer for us.

Re: TTC Checking in

  • Many prayers. I have only been trying a few months but it can be so disappointing to see AF pay her visit. Good luck!

  • a few months i would full on break down.

This week i just dont feel much...so i dont think things worked but trying to stay positive.

I only have a headache which could be from anything and cramping but that could also be a side effect of taking fertility drugs. Never being pregnant before i often times wonder how i will know. its also only been about 4-5 days. so...its likely there is nothing going on in there.

Prenatals also in the past have caused headaches and such. I am taking them anyway though as they say its good and can prevent some of the normal sickness most women feel.

  • I have been taking prenatals for a few months, just in case. I try to stay positive. I am giving myself 6 months before I start temping. (Something I have no idea about... I am too embarrassed to ask!) After that, I will wait a few months then go see someone. I also have a crunch because I have been off the medicine for my MS since August.

  • Wishing all you ladies luck! I feel for all of you I feel so lucky my drs were proactive with me and we started metformin for my PCOS beore H and I started trying. It truely helped us and helped throughout my pregnancy as well. Keeping my fingers crossed for you and sending good nestie vibes and baby dust your way. Hugs!
  • I was on a 5 day 50 MG cycle. Produced 4 follicles...3 stopped growing but one matured to a size 28 before rupturing on the 21st. They monitored me throughout...every 3 days. On Day 14 i went in for a sono and blood and got a call that night that i was ovulating. But DH and i were unable to be intimate because of house guests until that next night (22nd). I know the window is small...12-24 hours when you are most fertile and ovulating. Heres the thing...i took an ov kit on the 20th (friday)...I got a neg. Sat. i got a positive, sunday night we did the deed. So whats the liklihood this might have worked????

Ive been off clomid since Dec 15. Only did one cycle. They want to see me back Jan 4 for a progesterone test. Or i can wait and take a preg. test. I have been taking my prenatals every day.

  • when you ladies say temping you mean basal temp monitoring?

I just bought one when i bought the ovulation kit but havent used it. I used the ov kit friday and then had the bloodwork sat. which i knew i was ovulating from that so i hadnt monitored myself.

  • Yes basal temp! Even if you don't use it to get pregnant you would be surprised how much you actually learn about your body from it!

It really helps though to tell when you ovulate and how long you actually ovulate.

Good luck! :) Sending baby dust your way!

And if ya'll have any questions on temping or charting or opks and whatever feel free to ask! That is what helped me get pregnant. I have never ever been on birth control and have never had a pregnancy scare and I have gone my entire adult life thinking I could not get pregnant. Me and my husband had unprotected sex the entire 3 1/2 years we were together before we got pregnant. I started temping and charting and I took prenatals for years. I started taking Evening Primrose Oil during the certain time in my cycles. It took a year of temping and charting but it worked and we got pregnant. We seriously thought we were going to have to go to a fertility doctor and I'm glad I tried everything I could before I did that. Who knows what kind of drugs they would have put me on. When I got pregnant naturally, it just took me learning my own body and how it was working. (Not saying that is how it will be for everyone)

But anyway, I seriously am a temping, charting encyclopedia. :)

  • I hope that when H & I start to TTC I hope it will not be hard to get pregnant. A.F has always been irregular for since it started but how many years later I am starting to regulate finally. I am keeping track on an app on my Ipod called Ovia it keeps track of everything and tells me when I am the most fertile. I hope it will help us out when we do start to try.
Good luck to Ladies who are TTC :)

I'll jump in here (we're currently on cycle 3 of temping/charting/TTC)- OPK's detect your LH surge before you ovulate... so if you got a positive on Saturday, you most likely ovulated on Sunday.  The only way to know this for sure would be to temp for the cycle as you can have an LH surge and not actually ovulate.  Based on your ultrasound and OPK's though, it sounds like you most likely ovulated Saturday or Sunday.  The best chances of getting pregnant are the few days before you ovulate, though it is absolutely possible to get pregnant the day you ovulate or the day after.  So to answer your question, yes it's possible, but for the future (if this isn't your cycle) I'd try to get at least the day before or two days before ovulation as well.  Good luck!

    Anniversary
  • has anyone experienced UTIs while TTC. A friend of mine who was also on clomid developed a few issues because of all the meds she was on. I wound up with one, which i seldom get (i guess i am lucky because i havent had any woman issues) but suspect its because i have been trying all the techniques people say work like not peeing after sex. Probably TMI..i figure you women can handle it though afterall i dont know many women who havent had any such issue before.

  • I've done 4 cycles of Clomid. No uti's. It probably because you are having a lot of intercourse. Just make sure you pee before, relatively soon after and make sure you are cleaning front to back.

  • That was my guess as well...although i am very meticulous with cleanliness.

I went on meds and was fine after 2 days. But.... update: im not pregnant. Wound up getting my visitor. Good thing was my cycle was 28 days exactly. So the meds helped regulate me...although i have had to stop clomid until my hubby gets checked. otherwise its a waste.
