New Year's Resolutions?

edited December 2013 in Getting Pregnant
Anybody have any?

I want to learn to knit. I found a class in a few weeks and want to make this my new hobby.

Between IVF and a major home repair, we saved $0 in 2013. I want to make saving a priority in 2014.

And, as I do every year, I want to lose lbs. I have a goal in mind, but obviously it gets discontinued if there is a BFP.
IUI - BFP! Baby boy born still - August 2012
IVF - BFP - miscarriage June 2013
FET - BFN
FET - BFN
Switched clinics
IVF with PGD - three embryos created, all healthy - July 2014
FET - transferred two embryos (boy and girl) - Nov 2014 - BFP!
Baby Boy born July 2015

Re: New Year's Resolutions?

  • I'm a huge goal person, and here's how I've broken them down for 2014.

    Personal:
    1. Get to my goal weight, and finally maintain that weight.
    2. Run 2 half marathons.  Or 1 half marathon and 1 Triathlon.

    Work:
    1. Sell double 2013's premiums.
    2. Sell $15k in life premiums.

    Personal Business:
    1. Do $40k in sales with my Tastefully Simple business.
    2. Earn the incentive cruise through TS for both H and myself.

    Family:
    1. Pay off $30k in student loans.
    2. Re-do the spare bedroom.
    3. Attend church regularly.
    4. Pray together weekly.

  • Similar to you, @ILoveRedVino, I want to learn a new hobby. I want to learn to sew. My momma is an amazing seamstress (not professionally, as a hobby) and she bought me a really nice sewing machine and supplies. She's going to teach me how.

I also am getting myself primed for throwing myself into the next phases of 3T - IUI and/or IVF. I'm preparing myself physically by getting very strict and officially getting a trainer and seeing a nutritionist. Also mentally/emotionally by going back to a therapist. I forgot how much better I feel when going to talk to someone. I'm also going to check out an acupuncturist. I've heard so many stories of it helping 3T women. My insurance covers it so why not try?

Cheering on all of my 3T ladies!  DX with PCOS - 11/2012 DH S/A & HSG - Normal - Too many rounds of Clomid = BFNs - New RE 5/2014 - Repeat Testing - Losing 40lbs before injects/IUI

  • Personal:
Start eating more healthy foods and less crap. Also keep a regular workout schedule.
    Read more books (75 hopefully!)
    Marital:
Spend more quality time with DH
Find new activities and restaurants around the city
    Pray and grow spiritually together
Pay off DH's student loans and save more money for a down payment when we move home
    Professional:
    Be deemed "competent" in CBT
Read more therapeutic books and attend a conference

Looking at it, that's a lot of goals. I'm hopeful that I can really get my stuff together and accomplish these things.

  • DH and I started a diet the begins g of December, I need to lose 70 pounds. We are getting our bathroom remodeled ASAP (we had his contractor uncle visit today for an estimate) I want to pay that loan and our one remaining credit card off at least by the time we get the tax refund in 2015. We are also trying to get our house to a position where I feel comfortable with a homestudy/refinance. Finally I am starting a masters program and I plan to finish with a 4.0 (this will of course take more than a year)

  • I'd like to get some house projects done. I'd like to put up a backsplash in the kitchen and frame the mirror in the guest bath. We also would like to reorganize the laundry closet and the coat closet. Yikes, that's a lot! We've put off a few of these because of 3T, but I can't keep letting it get in the way of our other goals.
TTC #1 since Feb. '12. dx: "unexplained" IF
After 2 shitty IVF cycles and 1 loss at 6+2 (EDD 11/7/14), DH and I are pursuing DIA.

  • The same weight loss goal I have every damn year. Eventually I figure it will stick.

Create and stick to a budget. We just got You Need a Budget to help with this.

After I graduate in May, get a promotion relevant to my degree/long term goals that will get me off from 2nd shift.

  • I want to continue my roll from 2013, with continuing to save $, lose (at the least maintain) some more weight, and paying down student loan debt. All the other stuff I want is pretty much out of my control.
  • Our plans include:

    1. Hope to buy our first house.
    2. Get in better shape. (I'm not good at weight goal setting because it never satisfies me...I always want more and I get obsessed which is really bad for me).
    3. Hope to buy a new car which will be dependent on paying off some debt. (And my transmission not falling apart before we are ready).
    4. Go to church more often.

  • Refinance the house, put on the addition, have more sex, get a pet turtle, pay off my credit card and cancel it.
  • DH and I together are going to start exercising and eating less junk food. I want
I want to start cleaning our houses more and better once our renovation is 100% done.

  • I'm not one to make resolutions for the new year, I tend to make resolutions for improvement monthly throughout the year.  Here are my January ones:

Making dinner at home more often/eat dinner out less often

Taking my supplements especially my PNV, fish oil, Vit D and magnesium daily

    Continue exercising 4-5x a week

Cut sugar out for the month of January

Spending hiatus this month to focus on paying off all our remaining CC bills from the holidays

Finish all the little projects and deep clean the house to get it ready to go up for sale in February/March

  • My biggest resolution is to have my name on a few releases in 2014. I'm sure at some point I may have mentioned that I DJ and produce music, or maybe not. But I've been so focused on TTC this year that I completely slacked off on my music, only taking a few small gigs and not one single release. Already talked to H though and beginning of next month, we're going to work on a few projects together that we kept putting off :)

Btw - for those of you who have made exercise as one of your resolutions, I can send you some mixes that I did for a fitness company that are guaranteed to break you into a sweat and burn some calories. (for free)

My BIL also has a free podcast dedicated to fitness that I will be more than happy to share the link to here for those who are interested. He's been doing it for about 5 years now and I helped him to launch it. Each mix has a different Bpm so depending on the kind of workout you want, you have plenty to choose from.
  • @r.wilsonny I would love some of your mixes and the link! That may be the motivation that I need to continue my exercise goals!

The mixes I need to locate them on my external drive and see about uploading them, but the podcast can be found here:

    www.motiontraxx.com

And it's also on Itunes (Motion Traxx)

This is my BIL's life. He wanted to start a company that incorporated 2 things he loved - fitness and music, and this was the end result. I helped him to get it off the ground when I was still living in Spain. When I came back to the US, I didn't have any extra time to help him anymore so he now has a whole team of people that he works with on it.

I'll try to get the mixes up by the end of this week. If for some reason you don't hear anything about it by like Saturday, just remind me ;)

Actually - this one is not really fitness related, but it's a session my H & I recorded, burned onto orange cds, and gave out as our wedding favor (the mix was later uploaded for a contest):
