Vacation Recs with a toddler
DH and I decided we need to plan a vacation for us and our son. It would be at the end of spring/early summer around when we are trying for #2. We are early in the planning process but does anyone have any suggestions for kid friendly vacations? We do not want to do Disney (we have family down there and we don't want any family joining in this vacation) or the shore. We are open to flying. We don't want this to be over the top expensive but since it will be our big vacation we are expecting to spend some money. DS will be approximately 2 when we go.
Alternatively, we could be convinced to do a long weekend somewhere and then another vacation at the shore this weekend... although I'm not a big fan of the shore so I'd prefer a bigger vacation now.
Any ideas??
Our little hippo was as impatient as mom!
Hoping for a full 40 weeks!!
Re: Vacation Recs with a toddler
We also plan on having another kid in the next few years so I'm debating if I want to save those bigger trips for when we have two kids. I'd feel bad if the other kid never got to see it haha I'm so weird like that. Worrying about my hypothetical child's feelings!
Maybe I'm lame, but I wouldn't travel anywhere terribly expensive or really cool with a toddler who likely wouldn't even remember the experience. We did a long weekend down the shore this past summer when the kid was almost 2. We may as well have taken him to the fanciest place on earth. He had the best time at the beach and on the boardwalk.
I just think that there are so many amazing places in this area to do day trips (ie zoo, PTM, aquarium, etc) that an over the top vacation at this age doesn't make sense. Different strokes for different folks and all that, but this is my take.
