Ontario Moms - a question

I was reading our hospital policies. It says that usually your DH can stay overnight. But, it also said sometimes you end up in a ward and he can't stay.

What was your experience?
Congrats to my TTC buddy Madeline! Cheering for all the strong 3T ladies!

Re: Ontario Moms - a question

  • I'm totally confused and annoyed by your hospital! they don't give you any info about FF, you have to supply everything including diapers, and now dad's might not be able to spend the night.

I can totally understand your frustration! my goodness

  • My experience was that DH spent the night. And everyone I know has had the same experience. I was in a ward for the second night and he could stay that night too. Also diapers and pads were provided. And tours too if you want.

  • Ours doesn't offer a tour :( And... I've been told to bring my own diapers, formula, wipes and pacifiers.. Glad to know dads can usually stay...

That is awful and definitely not a provincial thing. I know that hospitals have different regs but that really, really sucks.

  • We had coverage for a private room but they didn't have one available the first night so we were in a semi-private and DH couldn't stay... However the girl in the next bed had her husband stay which was very annoying because he snored all night and when they weren't asleep they kept me up talking, it was horrible. The next day I was moved into a private room and he was allowed to stay.

I was also told to bring everything you were but they did provide diapers and pads for me. They just don't provide wipes. I brought everything just in case and only used some of it.

  • Oh they also gave me a pacifier and provided formula because she wouldn't latch in the beginning.
