Re: QOTD 1/4

  • Ugh, white. All of them! We are planning on painting the nursery this spring and I really want to do an accent wall in our bedroom, but we will see if that happens.

When we moved into our house, there was only one wall in our entire house that wasn't white and it was a god-awful shade of teal.  That has since been repainted to orange (which I LOVE).

Our bedroom is a sand-tan on top, baby blue on bottom with a chair rail.  Everything is white.

I really want to do a nursery in gray with yellow and green accents.  My mom used to always sing me "you are my sunshine", and my nickname was sunshine, so I'd like to do that theme.  And I really love grey!

I was thinking about doing the room the kids stay in green.  We really need to decorate that as we do a nursery... just hard to decorate it when they are only here 1 week in the summer.  They have bunk beds, and my old craddles for Lilly to play with.

The 4th bedroom I probably won't touch.  It has a light pine bedroom set with red accents.  It's a guest room, it'll be ok!

  • We rent, so white. I think we might be able to paint in the new rental, but I'm not sure if we will or not. If they do allow you to paint, there's a lot of restrictions so it might not me worth it.

  • Most of our house is a light grey.  The only rooms that have color are the guest bathroom which is a light leafy green, the laundry room which is a very light muted aqua, and our office which is a light blue.  Oh, and my closet.  I wanted it to be super girly, so it's a rich magenta purple color.

  • We only have one bedroom.  It's a light gray-purple.  I love it, it's really calming.  Even though it's purple, H likes it too.  He had mentioned a few months ago that when we find a house, he'd like to paint our bedroom the same color that it is now.
  • Our guest room is a light peachy-pink color that looks fairly neutral unless you have pink stuff in there.

Our master is something neutral....is it bad that I don't even know? haha.

@mana8503 I want to do a You Are My Sunshine themed nursery as well!! I sang it all the time as a child. I've always loved it. I actually have a piece of wooden art next to my side of the bed:

  • Every room is cream with white ceilings. When we had the house built those were the standard colors and since I'm indecisive and hate painting it has stayed that way. I just decorate with color. The only room that is painted a darker beige (boring!) is the nursery...again when we have a second child or DD decides that her jungle Jill bedding isn't cute anymore we can decorate with any color and I won't have to paint!

    Our bedroom is off white

The nursery is yellow on the bottom and white on top with a light brown chair rail in the center. We went gender neutral bcs we didn't know what we were having with our first. I pained and added the name after his birth

The yellow is actually a soft yellow, it just looks really harsh/bright in the pic
  • I'm in the same boat as @Nic12184. We rent our house as well so every single room is white. We were given the option to paint too, but it still winds up being eighty shades of white to choose from. Not worth it.

  • My entire house is off white, except the guest bedroom.  It was the first room that was painted in our house after we bought it.  DH proposed on the wall.  After something awesome like that I know painting will never be the same.  Maybe when I get PG I'll paint it on the wall!!

  • Our bedroom is "prairie brush" which is a light sage like green. The guest bedroom is somewhere between beige and tan.
