A girl never forgets her dress
I got an e-mail from Goodreads today and on the side banner had some book jackets and one had a bride on it. After just a small glance, I thought the bride in the photo was wearing my wedding dress so I clicked the picture. Sure enough, it was my dress. I tried showing DH and he didn't seem to care nearly as much as I did. I figured my other May girls would get my excitement.
Anyone have any fun plans this weekend? Whatever they are, stay warm ladies! Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend

I Hope you are all well and had wonderful holidays.. much love
And masey! Hi! And congrats :-).
Nothing too exciting this weekend. It's coooooold so hopefully inside things. Maybe book or sewing things.
I spayed Aspen yesterday and she is the biggest sissy of sissies so it's quite dramatic in this household.
my read shelf:
Aggie - sorry about Aspen
jlq - good luck with the dinner arrangements.

Life is good here! Busy yesterday so checking in on a Saturday!
Nice work spotting the dress lbv! I put my dress on at least for our anniversary. I couldn't bear to cut it up for a baptism gown/outfit for ds1 because it was so soon after our wedding.
Congrats Masey!! When are you due!! So exciting! Life with two is fun so far!! How far apart will yours be?
Poor puppy!
I don't think I fit into my wedding dress anymore.

Ask me stuff.
SO MUCH FUN IN THIS THREAD.
Okay, I'm going to go read it now.
Hi MONO!! Long time no see!! What's new??
EEEEE - have you fallen off the planet? Talk to us. What's new?
Not much is new with us. We're back from Florida. It was a really very nice vacation. We had a great time - Disney, SeaWorld, and Universal. We had Butterbeer, met Minnie, played with stingays, and took a thousand pictures.
I was very ready to come home six days later. I temp and chart my cycles so I'm well aware that my luteal phase is 13 days. When my luteal phase reached day 17 (one day beyond normal and highly suggestive of pregnancy), I may or may not have totally freaked out since we were still in Florida and refused to test around my in-laws. We finally made it home (damn Hercules!!!) and I got my period on day 18. I have no idea what happened there since I couldn't test earlier.
Big life decisions. Scary as hell.
Your LP story made me laugh. I can see you panicking. Glad you are home safe and sound (and staying warm).
But, oddly, I'm not scared of the kid part. We're okay with that.
...I'm terrified of morning sickness. Terrified. I'm convinced it's going to be three straight months of puking and I couldn't gather myself up to facing it in Florida. Jay was a trooper, though. We finally could talk freely about everything when we drove to the airport (privacy, finally). I was like "My heart is pounding. I can't feel my hands!" Haha. He was awesome. My Jay is awesome.
And, I had no one to tell that story to so you all got to hear it. Sorry. Thanks for listening?
I can absolutely understand your freak out about your LP. I've had one of those recently but then when AF showed up, I was disappointed. But the disappointment was actually a good thing because it means that I do really want this, ya know? But I'm sure if/when I get a BFP, I'll flip the F out.
So how does butterbeer taste? Did you get your own wand? I'm listening to the last HP and watched all the movies--expect for the ones based on the last book--over break. So I'm extremely curious about your whole experience there.
What was your favorite park? How awful was it returning to this horrible weather? Was it just you and Jay or did anyone else go with you guys?
my read shelf:
Woo! Harry Potter! What was your favorite book? Movie? How do you feel about the whole story?
Butterbeer was lovely. It was very caramel-y. You have your choice of a cold drink (looked like beer) or an iced/slushy version. We went for the slushy. We could only finish half of it since it was sweet and heavy, but definitely delicious.
The rest of the experience was ... um ... crowded. It's in one of the Universal Studio parks and it just can't handle the crowds quite like Disney can (in my experience). The entire Harry Potter area is small and the stores are even smaller, but nearly everyone in the park is shoved in there. It was overwhelming with people. What we saw and experienced without freaking out was super cool, but the crowds really killed it.
When you go, try to find the least crowded day in the entire year! It was so crowded that we had to get a timed ticket that told us when we were even allowed to enter the Harry Potter section. When it was our time, the massive wall of people trying to get in at the same time was epic.
We brought home pumpkin juice and chocolate frogs. I've been dying to tear into a chocolate frog since we bought it, but we still haven't. I want to see those silly cards on the inside.
EDIT: My card was Godric Gryffindor.
That's really cool about the butterbeer and the chocolate frogs. I wonder whose card you are going to get! I'm glad you had a fun time even if it was chaos.
Ummmm I like the books but I don't LOVE them like everyone else seems to. I feel like if I had just watched the movies, that would have definitely been sufficient to get the overall story. But I like the books better than the movies because they are more in depth than the movies allow for.
I guess my issue is that it seems to be the same.exact.story in every.single.book and for that reason, I didn't really have a favorite. It's the same main characters fighting the same bad guy just in different ways. But I definitely see why people are obsessed and why the books are so loved. The whole magical world that J.K. Rowling created is absolutely amazing and let's you use your imagination which is fun.
They are good books just not my cup of tea. And yes Aggie, I am glad that I've read (errrr listened to) them. If only for the fact that I now understand a lot of references that people make (BB specifically even though she's not around anymore.)

We are almost ready to take that road and I am so anxious. Most days I am so ready. SO ready. Others I am like aaaaahhhhhhh I am not sure i am good enough to raise another human.
E I am really glad you read the books! You didn't have to love them but I figured you would still enjoy them and they are referenced everywhere!
I am really over the plum series and I am on like 13 or something. I have a few left I own to read but I have to be in a weird funk to pick one up.
my read shelf:
In time, jlq! I know you can only be so ready for kids, but being the best ready you can be is good, too.
