Weekend Reading Progress

Happy Monday!

Anyone else have to dig out this morning? I'm thankful for kind neighbors who are willing to plow me out because I couldn't get my SUV out of my driveway, and I couldn't get my garage open to get to the snow blower or even a shovel! And that was after my husband plowed at about 4 yesterday. We got a crazy amount of snow this weekend. It's a pain in the ass, but I love it.

What books did you start/finish/totally neglect/make good progress on this weekend?

Re: Weekend Reading Progress

  • Finished Infinityglass and finally started Cry Wolf, Alepha & Omega #1.   Wasn't thrilled with Infinityglass, but it's been so long since I've read the other books that I didn't remember a lot.  So far Cry Wolf is ok, but not as good as the Mercy series.
Jessica, Married to Brian 12/27/03, Mom to Alex 6/27/94, Devin 10/29/04, and Emily 1/15/07
  • I made a bit of progress on Dark Witch by Nora Roberts and I'm really loving it. I'm hoping to get a good chunk read tonight. I can't wait to dive back in. I adore stories set in Ireland.

I got started on my Mockingjay re-read (or re-listen) and totally neglected There's More to Life Than This.

  • I got a few hundred pages of Lover Revealed (BDB#4) read this weekend. I should finish it today or tomorrow.

We got another 10 inches of snow on top of the 15 we got on New Year's.  Now the wind chill -41 degrees.  If I didn't have to do this whole mother-ing thing, I would be a reading machine these next two days!  :)

I read The Transfer by Veronica Roth in the car on Saturday.  Driving home in the blizzard.  And I got through about 50 pages in The Book of Broken Hearts.  We were busy and I was catching up on Downton Abbey.

  • I finished Casino Royale and staryed Belle.

We got rain and above freezing temps with lots of wind last night. Our snow went down to the ice layer from before Christmas. Apparently we are supposed to get 15 cm tonight.
  • I finished Rogue Rider on audio and picked up Vision in White again.  I'm casually reading Four Sisters, All Queens and trying to decide what to start on the Kindle.  I downloaded the first in the Wheel of Time series and tried to start it last night but I got distracted.  Maybe I'll try again on lunch.

    My favorite Cake Wreck ever.

  • I finished Falling Star by Diana Dempsey, started Attachments and The Raven Boys.  I neglected The Diviners by Libba Bray because it's an audio book and I didn't have a chance to listen to it.

  • It's really cold here (18 degrees) and windy, but no snow. We had a few flakes last night but nothing major. They are calling for rain/snow mixture today but I'm not seeing anything so far. I wish I could curl up on my couch all day.

I still haven't finished The Perks of Being a Wallflower, which is ridiculous because it's so short. I've had no time to read since Friday morning, so I'm hoping to finish it up tonight. It's entertaining me when I do have time though.

  • I made good progress on Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.

While we didn't get much snow overnight, we are supposed to get some today. The wind chills today are forecasted to be 20 below. I'm not planning on leaving the house!

  • I finished The Winter Sea, which I didn't want to end because I loved it so much.  I'm about halfway through Oryx and Crake now and it's so interesting.  This is the second book I've read by Margaret Atwood and I really like her writing style.

  • I finished Crewel by Ginnifer Albin, the first book in the Crewel World series, and started Altered, the second book in the series.  I really loved Crewel and am liking Altered so far but I have a feeling a love triangle is about to come into play and I am SOOOO tired of every YA book/series revolving around a love triangle.

  • It's raining here today.  Blah.  I wish it was snow!  It's also in the mid-50s, after being about 2 degrees over the weekend.  They say if you don't like the weather in New England, wait a minute.  I guess that's true this week.  It's supposed to be 13 degrees out again tomorrow.

I finished reading Bobcat and Other Stories by Rebecca Lee last night.  It was great!  I put it as my third choice for WBN, but I wish I had made it my first.  And now I'm back to reading Horns, which I fell asleep reading last night.  I'm really loving it.
  • Finished Attachments and had a book hangover for the remainder of the weekend.

  • Snowy and cold here but I didn't make tons of reading progress. I got through a few more chapters in Washington and One Thousand Gifts. I did also start The Magician's Nephew and made it halfway through....hoping to finish that before classes start on Wednesday. Didn't spend much time in the car so no real progress on The Graveyard Book.
  • I finished reading Cutting for Stone for my book club.  I liked it, but there is a lot I want to discuss.  I'm still listening to Kicking and Dreaming.  I started reading The Good Nurse this morning.
  • Got about 150 pages into The Longest Ride by Nicholas Sparks. Hoping to finish it tomorrow night or Wed and move on. =)

  • I finished Isabella by Colin Falconer but haven't started anything else.
