Laminate floors

We have cheap laminate floors in my house. Eventually we would like to replace them with bamboo. In the meantime, I don't want to damage them but want to be able to clean them beyond dusting and vacuuming. When we first moved in I cleaned them a few times with my steam mop on low but I know I'm not supposed to keep using that as it will warp the floor eventually. Any tips?

Re: Laminate floors

  • I have always loved my swiffer! I have the dry sheet (I use this first when cleaning) and it will pick up any hair and dust. After that I use the wet swiffer (the one that you push the button and the cleaning solution comes out). It picks up so much dirt, smells good and if I really wanted to I could fill it with other cleaning solution once it runs out.

I have been using it for years and I'm still happy with the end results!

  • I'll check it out the next time I go to the store to see if the solution is safe for laminate. Thank you!
  • I have the rubbermaid reveal mop. You can pick your own solution so it's more cost effective and natural. It's also cordless. We love it much more than our swiffer.
