Re: Ten Things Tuesday

  • 1. I'm giving up on my body ovulating, and am starting Provera today. After a weeks worth of positive OPK's, I've given up on seeing a temp shift.

    2. It's still cold here, and I'm wearing my running tights underneath my dress pants.

    3. Tomorrow marks 1 week of no alcohol, and I'm liking the way I feel without it.

    4. I will be near a Starbucks this weekend, and I can't decide what to get to drink. It's been months since I've had it.

    5. Excited Sleepy Hollow is back on. :-)

    6. There's leftovers in the fridge for dinner, and it means no cooking for me tonight.  Yay!

    7. I kind of want to watch "90 day Engagement" when it airs, but trash TV isn't really my thing.

    8. Modern Family is hilarious!

    9. My new Brooks running pants are amazing!

    10. There's only 3 hours and 20 minutes left of work. Thank God!

  • 1. My best friend is coming to visit on Sunday and we made a date to drink wine and watch "Blackfish" together.
    2. I'm not sure what my excuse will be if AF doesn't come on Sunday and I can't drink wine...
    3. I HATE HATE HATE winter time.. HATE IT!
    4. DH still has not gone to buy the material needed to finish my walk in closet.
    5. I am not going on 45 days with no closet... I don't wish this upon any female.
    6. I'm supposed to be dieting as of today.
    7. I ate a donut for Breakfast... :-/
    8. I need to buy a dress this weekend for my friends engagement party.
    9. I need to lose 8 lbs... that's my goal.
    10. I'm extremely nervous/reluctant to make an appt with an RE if this month is a bust...

  • @brij2006, I'm sorry your body never got its shit together. :(

@Sewilson33, when our closet rod snapped in half in August 2012, it took a few months for DH to get it together and put together the new closet (we took the opportunity to add shelves and dual-height rods). This past spring I finally got closet doors again. There's STILL no new trim around the closet (since it had to get ripped off to enlarge the opening a tad and put on the new doors).

    1) The meeting, which was the whole reason I didn't get to work from home today and had to brave the negative wind chill temperatures this morning to come to work, was a total waste of time.

    2) Our editor-in-chief even said it was a complete waste of time.

    3) Is it summer yet?

    4) DH made a delicious dinner last night of strip steak, mashed potatoes, and steamed broccoli; I swear I could eat those mashed potatoes every day of the week, they're so good!

    5) I finally know what to do with the 2 old cashmere sweaters I have sitting around waiting for new lives (they've got holes in them after several years): I'm going to make pillows out of them! And possibly wrap a candle holder or two.

    6) I'm really nervous for tomorrow's appt.

    7) My hair is SO static-y today!! It's really annoying.

    8) I'm out of stuff...

  • 1) R had a stomach virus Sunday night into Monday. I felt so bad for him!

    2) of course I started feeling bad after work yesterday and was up all night with the same stomach bug.

    3) I'm convinced that I didn't get as sick as him because I got the flu shot.

    4) I feel bad that Ginger has to go outside to potty.

    5) Because I was up sick, I called off today, and have the next 2 days off.

    6) I wish I could take a nap. I'm sleepy.

    7) There is nothing on TV and I don't feel like reading.

    8) I wish R didn't have to work today so we could have stayed on the couch and cuddled all day.

    That's all I have.

    1) I had one of those Reese's peanut butter eggs for breakfast...it was amazing.  Even though they make similar ones around other holidays they just aren't the same; the eggs are the best.

    2) I spent at least 20 minutes earlier today trying to find clues online about what the next season of American Horror Story is going to be about.

    3) I did laundry on Saturday and have yet to put it away.

    4) I DVR'd the Bachelor and Full Throttle last night and can't wait to go home and watch them even though I'm embarrassed to admit that I watch either of them.

    5) I'm annoyed that my gym is so packed with all of the new years resolution people.  This is hypocritical because I was one of those people not all that long ago, but it's still annoying that it takes me forever to find a parking spot and that all of the best machines are taken.

    6) I'm looking forward to February because I know a lot of people will give up by then.

    7) I'm tired of hearing people complain about the cold weather.  It's winter, it's supposed to be cold, everyone will be ok.

    8) My best girlfriend told me a couple of weeks ago that she is expecting baby #2; I feel like an asshole that my initial reaction wasn't that I was happy for her.

    9) I feel like I learn something new every day at work and I love that feeling.

    10) I'm super excited for my new iphone case to be delivered; it's so cute.

  • 1. I've done very little work today.
    2. I don't feel guilty.
    3. I can't help but feel negative about responding to Follistim since every other med hasn't worked.
    4. I'm proud of myself for ordering a healthy sandwich for lunch instead of the cheesy pasta I really wanted.
    5. I love trash TV and can't wait to go home and watch my DVR'd Real Housewives of Atlanta and Beverly Hills.
    6. I'm excited that Real Housewives of New York is about to start again.
    7. I've been seriously thinking about starting up a YouTube channel with makeup tutorials and other beauty related videos.
    8. I probably won't go through with it because I'm too self conscious.
    9. I posted an ad on CL in the strictly platonic section to meet other people that are having trouble TTC.
    10. My black schnauzer probably isn't going to be black for much longer.  He's getting a lot of new white hair growth.  I'm a little sad about that.

  • 1.  Hello, CD1.

    2. This is actually a good thing, since it won't interfere with my hysteroscopy/laparoscopy on the 16th.

    3. I have been staring at the same pile of work for hours now.  I am just not interested.

    4. Which is funny, because my boss came in earlier to remind me that we're still on track, and once the company grows a little more, we can hire someone to do the mundane tasks I'm stuck with now haha.

    5. I just made a brunch date with my old roommate. I miss her!

6.Why does it have to look some inviting outside if it's just going to be so darn cold??

    7. My office is a mess.

    8. I found out one of my old middle school teachers passed away yesterday.  He was in charge of the service club, and also led the youth group at the church we went to. My heart is sad today. He touched so many lives.

    9. I hope the response to his passing inspires my teacher friends to continue to do their best, even when there are so many hoops, and red tape, and complaints, and difficult parents..  It's worth it.

    10. Is it summer/spring/5pm yet?

  • 1. I have an addiction to trash tv. I can't help myself sometimes.

    2. I used to have my CNA (so mad I let that expire), I am currently a CPhT but work in Medical Collections.

    3. I want work to end so I can go home, be an old lady and work on my cross stitch baby blanket for my friend.

    4. Everyone is annoying today.

    5. I can't say no to chocolate.

    6. I want summer back. All 117 degrees of it!

    7. I can't concentrate for the life of me.

  • 1. I start my last semester of school next Monday and I already want it to be over.

    2. I'm on CD 3 and still miserable. Normally I only cramp on CD 1.

    3. I'm the only person on my team who showed up for the night shift the last 2 nights (there are normally 3 of us). This has earned me major brownie points.

    4. I got amazing new tires on Christmas Eve because of a screwup at Sears (seriously really good customer service story) and I'm convinced they've saved my life multiple times since.

    5. I just got a Harry Potter Gryffindor Snuggie to go with my new leather recliner I bought with Christmas money. I want nothing more right now that to be curled up with it and my Kindle.

    6. My hair clip is falling out of my hair and it's super annoying.

    7. There is a distinct possibility I'll be working 10 a.m. to midnight tomorrow after working until midnight tonight. If I do, though, I probably get a half day on Friday. I don't know which I want more.

    8. My sister is getting married in England in July and I've spent more time planning my vacation there than helping her plan the wedding.

    9. I have a wall of shoes. I own around 150 pair (I've lost count).

    10. As of December, DH and I have known each other half of our lives and been together for most of that time (known 15 years, been together 13).

  • @sewilson33 - Blackfish is incredible. I was so angry and so sad, but I couldn't look away. In fact, I might even watch it again.

    1. I bought myself Gobstoppers today and am seriously considering eating the entire box tonight.
    2. I took tomorrow off. I can't wait to sleep in.
    3. I am wearing Ravenclaw socks.
    4. T (our Boston Terrier) did not want me to leave her at daycare today. I cried when I left her. She was crying, too. I wish I could take her to work with me.
    5. My Christmas tree is still up. I don't feel bad.
    6. I gave my friend major side-eye today when she asked me why people were upset about the Olympics this year. She had no clue about Russia's laws because she never watches the news.
    7. I'm going skiing this weekend, and I can't wait!
    8. I am nervous about our meeting tomorrow with the doctor.
    9. Pottery Barn is my favorite home store, but my SIL thinks it's Pier 1. She buys me gift cards there, and while there is stuff I like, it's not my favorite. FWP, yo.
    10. Last night at yoga, I spent more time than I care to admit examining my yoga instructor's belly before deciding it was just pudge and not a baby bump. The fact that she has a 19 yo daughter played a big role in my decision.

  • 1. A nasty head cold reared its head last night and has only gotten worse since I woke up this morning.

    2. Mr's car battery died this morning.

    3. Then the power went out.

    4. No car and no power does not bode well when working from home.

    5. Only upside was that I had to leave the house to get a new battery and I stopped at Chik fil A on the way home. Power came back on while I was out.

    6. Provera makes me so bloated. I hate it.

    7. I'm hoping to go to bed early and wake up feeling better.

    8. Looking forward to the weekend and warmer weather.

I've got nothing else. Going back to my misery. Hope you all are having a better Tuesday than me :)

  • 1.  I finally got AF yesterday... I'm excited that I finally get to start charting my cycles.  I'm hoping it will make a difference for us.

    2.  School is cancelled again tomorrow so DH is super excited

    3. FFC:  I kinda wish he was going back...

    4.  I have 2 interviews tomorrow, one on the phone for something (probably will be a paid internship) with a web development company, the other for a different position within the library which would still be part time but more hours and a huge jump in pay

    5. I keep forgetting that the potato chips sitting on my desk are ones that fell on the floor, but I've remembered before actually eating them

    6.  I'm looking forward to my class this semester starting in a few weeks

    7.  I wish it were financially feasible for me to take more than one class at a time

    8. I should really be spending  my break from school working on my portfolio or reading up on and practicing different techniques for web design

    9.  I only feel mildly guilty that I'm not

    10.  I think the local library's new website is too busy and a little ugly

  • My awesome BIL built it for me as my Christmas present 2 years ago. It's not even all of my shoes either. There's another 30-40 pairs that I don't wear as often in the closet. :\">

GP-related -- This is one of the biggest points of contention while we're TTC actually. We have a 3 bedroom house and this is the guest bedroom. DH doesn't want to give up his office which is the other bedroom and I don't want to give up my shoe room/guest room. I think I've almost won this, though. We'll probably end up moving his office stuff into the guest room because the room really isn't used that often. If I need to, I'll buy curtains or something to hang in front of the shoes so he doesn't have to look at them when he's in there.

Too bad we're so far away from each other! I can't even coordinate sharing with my 2 younger cousins and they're only an hour away each!
