The RE said she thinks our failed cycle was a "fluke of nature" and that it should have worked, even though we had an early blast (she said at 29 it doesn't matter as long as you have something to transfer). My E2 levels were at 69 after 3 days of stims, and they should have been well over 100 at that point. RE shared our concerns about the number of eggs retrieved, and she really wants to be aggressive this cycle. She wants to try the antagonist protocol with even more b/w and monitoring. I'm actually pretty thrilled. You know how disappointed I was with our ER results. I'm registering for some genetic testing right now to test for Fragile X, and we should have the results by the time I am done with BCPs. She doubts there is anything wrong, but she thinks we should cover our bases for this next cycle, especially because we'll probably be paying for part of it OOP.
DH was pretty concerned about the amount of sperm we have left on cryo, but RE said we had 2-3 vials left (it wasn't clear in the notes from the lab), so she's not concerned right now. He got in the car saying, "I don't really care how much we have to pay OOP for this. I like this protocol better. I have a good feeling." When we got home, I put my Angel of Miracles next to my Angel of Hope (thanks again, NSA!), and I hoped for the best. It felt really weird to drop off my Rx for BCPs when I've spent almost 2 years trying to get pregnant.
On the positive side of having a barren uterus, I'm drinking coffee, planning on opening a bottle of wine tonight, and going skiing tomorrow and this weekend. I wouldn't be able to do any of those if I was pregnant, and I really love doing all three of them. Power of positive thinking, right?!
