Re: Win and Whine Wednesday

  • Whine-Ava Nichol and I had a rough night last night. She wouldn't nap all day and then stayed up a little past 11. It all ended with her slamming her head in the wall, having a meltdown, blaming me and only wanting Daddy to comfort her. Talk about making Mommy feel bad.

Win-She slept until her normal time this morning (8:30 ish). Maybe we are winning this battle to get her back on track after the holidays.

Whine-I want a latte. I have an espresso machine but I am dizzy this morning so I don't want to go stand in the kitchen for 5 minutes.

Win-Ava Nichol loves numbers and shapes and I got a preschool kit that is Team UmiZoomi (one of her fave cartoons) and she is doing even better than I expected her to do. She is learning how to count and knows all her shapes up to a hexagon. She is learning the words for them now too and can say circle and heart.

Win-I love my kid and I am just so proud of her!

  • whine:

my back is killing me. Its up high up so I know I just slept on it wrong, but its annoying.

WTF RE why the hell didn't you tell me that there was an issue with my bloodwork. I paid you a lot of money, and I know I ultimately got pregnant naturally, this this is terrible of you.

    win:

    can't wait for cake tonight!!:)

  • Whine: we are getting everything ready to do our taxes, we need some Check images from our old bank and those assholes want to charge $5 for each check image. We need Like 100 of those Check images. I am so pissed. Now I remember why we left that bank in the first place.

Win: DH had to go to the office for some business stuff and I am drinking a pepsi. :)

Whine: DH has been trying to get me to quit drinking pepsi (I really do drink a lot of pepsi) and I get really annoyed when he tells me I can only drink half. Lol!! I'm not a kid!

Win: getting everything prepared to do our taxes has been easier than I thought.

  • @vitan thanks and I am so sorry. This is why DH and I split bedtime duties but he crapped out on me last night...said he was just too hot to hold her and that I needed to work my "magic".

@amccul20 yay for cake! I hope this blood work thing is no big deal but shame on your RE for not telling you...even if it was insignificant.

@bridget0117 I drink at least one Pepsi a day. Sometimes more. I try to stick to one. DH has never said a word to me because he knows better. Me without Pepsi is not good. He will even go out and buy me a Pepsi or bring me one home if we happen to run out before we can get to the store.

  • @wiggyslilsis, DH used to take me pepsi too but it has gotten so bad. With whatever meal I eat I always have to have a pepsi. I used to sometimes drink two pepsis at one meal :| and no water. I really dislike water.

He's gotten stricter because I'm "trying" to diet and when I don't lose weight and I complain he says "why do you even diet if you can't quit drinking pepsi".

After having DD I started eating a lot of chocolate, I mean a lot and I told him if you see me with a chocolate or pepsi take it away. Sure enough he started taking them away and I get pissed and get an attitude. Lol.
  • @wiggyslilsis and @vitan I promise you it will get better. Don't ever feel like bad mommy.

  • Whine: I still have this stupid cold. I'm officially a mouth-breather. Lol

Win: DH has been driving me to work lately and it's letting me sleep in longer, which is awesome!

Whine: however, the only way I'm sleeping is by zonking myself out with Tylenol PM.

Win: Baby boy has been moving a TON lately. With only 1.5 weeks so go, DH is finally interested in watching my belly move and likes feeling it. Better late than never, right?

Whine: I'm still having contractions 12-15 minutes apart. No water breaking, no getting closer together, just stagnant. The OB basically said, "It happens, suck it up." Which is fine, but the idea of being stuck like this is just frustrating.

Win: Because of this, I'm officially asking to work from home for the rest of the pregnancy.

Whine: I'm pretty sure work is going to roll their eyes at me and say no.

  • @bridget0117 just say the word and I'll mail you some chocolate and pepsi ;-)

Whine: As said on GP, no word from my work about insurance and I'm suppose to get blood taken. I'm waiting for HR to call me back and hopefully say all good and than I can call the insurance company and get any information I need to get the blood done. This is hopefully the last one, so over having my blood taken.

Whine: I'm still worried about my bff. I don't know why but after I posted last night, I just started crying for her.

Win: The city is no longer on snow lock down and I can go anywhere I want!

Win: DH and I are going out for dinner tonight simply because we can finally go out into the world!

  • Whine: Lexi is going to be 4 in 2 weeks! Where has the time gone.

Whine: We are converting her toddler bed to a full size big girl bed. She's so excited, as am I, but still sad!

Win: I'm having homemade chourice sandwiches with baked french fries for dinner. I cannot wait to get home and make it all! nom nom nom

Win: Since I started eating healthier and cut out a lot of crap, I have started to feel so much better! I'm not falling asleep driving or at my desk, I have actually completed a lot of To Do items on my home list, and I sleep so much better. Talk about a turnaround in a week's time.

  • Whine: After feeling great the last two days, today I am really exhausted and food is making me queasy again. (seriously, does the whole earth smell like cooking meat or what??)

Win: I'm actually kind of glad the symptoms are back because I honestly had not felt pregnant the last two days (other than bloating), which had me worried because I had a bad bout of cramping on Saturday night. I know symptoms come and go, and the placenta starts to take over at 10 weeks, but tell that to my worry prone brain... :)  On that note, I finally Googled the % of miscarriage after hearing a heartbeat at 8 weeks (I try to stay away from Dr. Google anymore), and it was way lower than I thought. Nice to have that little bit of affirmation!

Win: I bumped up my next appointment and they were able to get me in next Wednesday at a time H can make it! I can't wait to hear the heartbeat again and have my first 'real' appointment with the midwife. After that, H will be able to tell his coworkers and I know he's really excited to do that

  • @smbenivides1989 thank you so much for that. Such simple words but so much meaning to me right now.

Also, amazing how a little lifestyle change can make such a big difference so fast but I know what you mean!

@bridget0117 Oh okay I can see how it could become a problem especially when dieting. Maybe you could get the little pepsis it a two liter so you can still have sine with each meal but not as much? Start by limiting yourself? That is why I try to stick to one a day.

@pennstated912 I hope they let you work from home. Labor Limbo is the worst :(

@nightmare_of_beauty insurance is so frustrating. I had to call and see if Ava Nichol had insurance yesterday because I never got anything saying whether she got it or not. Thankfully she did. I hope everything works out and this is your last blood draw.

@goodwolf yay for moving your appt up and double yay for DH being able to make it!

@pandpmeant2b sorry about the pretrial drama :( I hope it all goes well in April! Those are some beautiful flowers!

  • (Different from gp kinda): win: no work today. Win: still on a high from seeing baby move all over the place at the last appt. my worry has gone down tremendously. Whine: I want to just sit in my pjs and watch tv today, but I hinted I might go to the grocery store and that means I would have to get dressed. Bummer dude

Whine: After getting most of the pipes unfrozen or on their way last night, one of the sinks started to leak from the pipe.  DH messed with it and made it worse.  He then refused to turn off its breaker because he didn't want it to freeze.  Guess what we were doing at 4am - after going to bed at 1?  You guessed it.  Duck taping the pipe and turning off the breaker.  Good practice for when LO gets here, I suppose.

Whine/Win - We called the plumber this morning and they're here already.  Problem is that I had told them that I couldn't do an appt until 2:15 so as not to need coverage and they said tough shit, 1ish or nothing.  Thankfully, my principal was very understanding and let me leave, but I feel so bad.  I've had to leave early a couple of times because I wasn't feeling well and even though I'm tenured in district and have a good rep, I'm new to the building and it makes me feel bad.

Win - I can take a bath tonight!!!

Whine/Win - I finally meet with the MFM about my probable GD tonight.  I'm glad to be learning what I have to do, but I'm terrified about pricking my finger and the diet.

This is neither a whine or a win, but a want - for all the CRAP he's put me through with this and with not listening, I WANT a present from DH!!!

No sadly it is not going to work out. I finally talk to HR who said they never got the information for me to start having health insurance through work (which is bs my boss showed me the email she sent 3 weeks ago) and even if she would have, my insurance can't start until Feb 1st because of changes they are making.

I'm mostly mad at DH's work for not telling us about this till about a week before Christmas and saying that as of 1/1/14 I will not longer be covered by them if I can get insurance through work. They could have given us more notice.

Now I'm waiting to hear from my doctors office.

ETA: Sadly this whole thing has me glad I'm not PR anymore. I would be freaking out.

  • Posted too soon. That would be stressful if you were PG but even so it is stressful to not have insurance for a month. I hope you are able to work something out with your doctor.
