GTKY: Interesting

What are 5 interesting things about you?

Re: GTKY: Interesting

  • 1. I was a campus tour guide for my undergraduate hence how I fell in to admissions career.

    2. Em pretty outgoing but have social anxiety about really weird things, like I don't like calling doctors, pizza places etc, don't like going into parties first send my h in front of me.

    3. Even though I have a heart condition, I actually spent more time in the hospital for my bad ear infections having a total of 10 operations on them.

    4. I was a theater nerd but gave it up after I graduated college, miss it so much.

    5. I won Phillies Phan of the year with my college roomate and was sent to an all expensive paid trip to spring training before the phillies were cool in 04.

  • 1. I am a super fast reader. I can put a book away in a few hours. It makes my mom sick :)  (Which is the reason I am frustrated with a 7 book series I am currently reading... it is over 7000 pages and I am only like 21% through after almost 2 weeks... gr!)

    2. I graduated #2 in my class in high school... I was two of like 65 but that is still pretty ok.

    3. Sometimes I freak out over the dumbest things but then I am totally calm about the things that would drive anyone else crazy (like the delay with the house).

    4. I am left handed but I do several things right handed because my parents and my brother are all right handed.

    5. I very strongly believe in ghosts and grew up in a house with a few extra residents...

  • 1. I was born woth blonde hair, it changed to brown and my whole life I've been trying to be a red head. Apparently the same thing happened to my grandma and I never knew until I was in my 20's. 2. I'm an only child, the youngest child, the only girl, and the youngest girl all at the same time depending on which parent you ask me about. My dad has 4 kinds total and my mom has my step brother and me. Even though my mom claims my step brother as hers ( she has been remarried for almost 20 years) I am still biologically her only child. 3. I am super scared of needles even though I have blood drawn 3-4 times a year I have learned to tolerate them. Although if I get my blood pressure taken before I have blood drawn it is always super high from the anxiety. 4. My boobs are 2 different sizes and yes I know it's "normal" but they are completely different sizes. Even doctors have commented on it and said there are ways to "fix" it. 5. 1 reason H and I wanted a baby is so we don't get funny looks when we go to "kid things" like Disney on Ice, the Circus, and Disney movies.
  • 1. I was in the junior Olympics for jump rope in 1998

    2. I have arthritis in my hands, ankles and knees from 8 years of very competitive gymnastics

    3. I really thought I was doing better with my mayonnaise phobia, until this past weekend. My mom snuck some on her sandwich and I smelled it across the room and threw up. Damn it.

    4. I am allergic to most fruits and vegetables, all nuts, peanuts, basil, mint, barley, soy (really any type of string bean, including peas and green beans) ugh. I'm tired of listing. It's a lot, alright?

    5. My parents changed my name at 6 weeks old. It was Jamelle (Arabic for camel), now it is Jamael (Arabic for beautiful). Simple mistake. I did the same thing with a tattoo, tried to get my Arabic name and effed it up and had to cover it up; ironic, huh?

  • 1.  I can touch my tongue to my nose

    2.  I have been to both Alaska and Hawaii, which should make my goal of getting to all 50 states easy, but I always end up visiting the same ones (i.e. Florida, Maryland, Ohio, Iowa) probably because I have family in those states.

    3.  I collect Disney glass figurines.  They are boxed up now.  If I ever have a little girl they will be put in her room.  If I only have boys I probably will create a "mom" space/room to put all of my girly things from childhood.

    4. My husband's aunt and my mom used to walk to school together when they were little.  My husband's mom also went to the same school as my mom.  This is interesting because my husband was raised in Iowa, but I was raised in Michigan.  It truly is a small world.  Also, when I lived in Indiana I was (still am) friends with a girl that my husband went to college with in Michigan.

    5.  I am a boring person and can't think of a number 5.
