Sent the WFH email, fingers crossed! (Updated)
I talked about this in the Whine/Win post, but I just sent out the email to my boss about working from home until the baby comes, starting next week.
On Sunday, I'll be 39 weeks and my work is 45 minutes away from the hospital. And since I've been having contractions, I would like to be as close to that hospital as possible when the time comes (I live 250 YARDS from the hospital).
I know the worst they can say is no, but I'm still nervous. I don't want them to think I'm a slacker. I just want to be able to be comfortable for the the last week (or two weeks if baby is stubborn).
Good vibes and thoughts, please!
*****UPDATE*****
I heard back from my boss. He says that understands my "desire" to be close to the hospital, however, because of the nature of my position I am expected to be on premise.
The only reason I am required to come to the office is to be a face at a desk. Everything about the marketing part of job can be done from home. As for the administrative, they have the ability to set up a fwd for me to answer phones from home and mail is delivered directly to the office.
He said he would talk to the CEO about it if I really wanted to press it.

@blueeyedblossom - I've asked two separate doctors for a note. Both said unless I'm having major complications, there's no reason I can't go into work - travel restrictions be damned. I'm feeling extremely trapped. If we could afford for me to just quit, I would.
It's physically painful to be in the office. This kid needs to come.
I also agree with your DH. I know it would be awkward for you, but I hope your water breaks all over the office so they have to clean it up.
I'm so sorry they're such a bunch of jerks.

My OB office more than likely won't let me go past my due date (if they do. It won't be long). All I'm asking for is 5 days.
I've had SPD since late in the second tri and literally just can't take it anymore. At least at home, I have my exercise ball I can sit on or the ability to lie down while I work instead of being hunched in a hard chair and walking on concrete covered by thin carpet lol

This is such crap. I would be bringing the exercise ball in and sitting on it while working.
Do your coworkers see and understand the crap they're putting you through? If so, then maybe let them know how uncomfortable you've been this past week and ask that they help out some.

I would definitely push the issue. It's only one week for them and it's dangerous/impractical for you to be driving that far from home this close to your due date.
Your boss really is an ass...
