I had my appt with the high risk doctor yesterday. I got to the office and the sono dept is running close to an hour behind, but I'm not scheduled for a growth check for another 2 weeks, yesterday was just supposed to be a consultation. So after half an hour of waiting I go to the receptionist and ask what's going on, and another sono tech calls me back. She's 6 days behind me in her pregnancy, so she and I have developed a nice rapport comparing our pregnancies. She tells me I'm actually due for a scan and I tell her I'm scheduled for one in 2 weeks. She asked why I was there and I explained what happened at my 3 hr test, but how a GD diagnosis doesn't make ANY sense as baby girl is measuring under the 50th percentile for weight, and I've only gained 1 lb, result in a net loss, as baby girl weighs 2.8 lbs and then the placenta and amniotic fluid weigh something as well. Apparently, if you fail the 1 hr, with this practice, you're supposed to take the 3hr at the MFM's office, not in your regular office, and they didn't do that. So she went into the doctor and explained everything and called me in and we spoke and I explained about the weight (which he was a little concerned about, even though I'm eating regularly), and said that because my fasting number passed and because I couldn't keep it down, that I should have been given a second shot at the test. They were concerned because my fasting number was on the high side of passing, but my blood sugar levels have ALWAYS been on the high side of normal, so how does that change anything?
I'm already following a modified GD diet (not testing blood, but limiting carbs where I can and made the switch to whole wheat) because I'm afraid to eat anything. So I'm scheduled for MLK day. If I fail, the nutritionist is on site at the office where I will be taking the test, and I will be able to meet with her and get my testing supplies in one day. But it was nice to have people advocating for me, especially since what I'm experiencing typically doesn't line up with a GD diagnosis.

RIP Dr. Irving Fishman - 10/1/19-7/25/10 - thank you for holding on for me.
You made my wedding day complete.

Re: I get another shot at the 3hr GD test, apparently :)
ugh that sucks you have to do it again though!

It sucks you have to go through it again, but it's good you're getting a second shot. I hope it's accurate and reflects good levels and you're in the clear for GD!
B/w 1/8: betas 17,345, progesterone 25.6
BFP 2: 7/7/2014 Beta 7/8: 115, Beta 7/12: 638, Beta 7/16: 3793, Beta 7/21: 21,625
I was correctly diagnosed with GD and my son always measured around the 20th percentile and I didn't gain much at all (walked out of the hospital below pre pg weight). And amniotic fluid was right on. So those things aren't conclusive.
Fasting blood sugar is really the most accurate measure (my fasting was the only high one most of my pg).
I hope you do pass the test! But if you don't, hopefully you will be able to monitor your GD and keep everything under control for a healthy baby and momma.
When you've been married this long, you need a ticker to remind you.
