Re: Reproductively Challenged (AKA 3T) Check In!

  • Update: not much of one. FF randomly gave me CHs. I don't necessarily think it's legit though. At least not yet. Plus, if I was really 10dpo, I'd have sore boobs, and I totally don't. My plan is still to ask for Provera when I go to my primary care doc next week  (unless I obviously have reason not to, one way or the other).

QOTW: I don't cuss and truthfully, I really dislike cuss words. :( Except for "crap",  if you count that (which I don't).

QOTW: I'm always very aware of who I am swearing around.  I don't swear (much) at work or around people I don't know well.  But, that being said, I swear quite a bit :) Also, I try not to use c-u-next-Tuesday.

    I fucking love you all.

  • I guess I'll start posting here since we are going through medicated cycles, if that's ok.

Updates: My estrogen level was at 59 so the first round of Follistim didn't work.  I got the results yesterday and I totally ugly cried in my car.  My RE wants me to do three more days at 150IU starting yesterday.  I'll go for another blood draw on Saturday and should get the results later in the day.

I'm finding it very hard to not get discouraged.  When you hear one negative thing after the other, it's hard to not be negative.

QOTW:  I cuss quit a bit.  I probably use bitch most because I can say it jokingly and in the midst of serious road rage, although in the road rage instance, there'd be other cuss words added before and after.

FFC/AW of the Week (no rules): I treated myself to two new items from ASOS even though I really don't need them or have anything coming up I'd could wear them to.  Pics for those that want them :)

  • Question for all you regular cussers...and I'm truthfully just legitimately curious here. Once you have kids, (because I'm thinking positively for ALL of us) do you think you'll continue to cuss around your kids? How do you think you'll react to them using cuss words for the first time? And at what age is it "ok" to start using cuss words? Again, I'm seriously just curious... I'm not judging AT ALL here!

Growing up in a non-cussing family, it's just so foreign to me so I don't know how it goes down in "normal" households. When I was little, we couldn't even use "butt" for awhile.  Oddly, I couldn't say "butt", "suck", "piss" or anything like that, but "crap" was free to use haha. Of course, all those words were allowed once we were a bit older.. maybe mid- late grade school? I think my parents just gave up because we said them so much.

In Christ alone my hope is found. He is my LIGHT, my STRENGTH, and my SONG!

I'm likely not having kids, but I am very careful not to swear around my nieces and nephews and friends' kids.

I probably didn't swear (much) around my parents until I was an adult and living on my own.  I still limit my swearing around them and around DH's parents.  The same goes for other older family members.

  • Sending out super baby vibes to all of you amazing ladies. The 3Ters need a baby boom in 2014.

QOTW: I curse a LOT more now than I ever did growing up. "Song of a bitch" comes out of my mouth a lot.

I grew up in a pretty non-cursing household. DH, on the other hand, grew up in a household that has no filters about anything no matter who they're in front of. Babies even get called "shithead" (apparently as a term of harsh endearment??), for example. I don't like it at all. That, and the constant smoking by the ILs. I will certainly try to limit cursing in my own home/with friends, but there's probably not a single thing I can do to get any of the ILs to start filtering their language.

  • Update:  Nothing really new here.  I'm on day 9 of 90 for taking meds to hopefully cure me of the complex endometrial hyperplasia.  Other than that I'm just working on losing more weight.  I'd love love love to hit my 100lbs lost by the time I am hoping to go back to the RE in April.  I went to the gym 3 times this week and have stuck to Weight Watchers pretty good so fingers crossed I see a lose when I weigh-in tomorrow morning.

QOTW:  I do cuss.  I try not to very often but sometimes I just can't help it.  The thing I say the most is "Are you fucking kidding me?!?".  I try not to cuss around children and will try not to cuss around my own children if I ever have any; however, I'm not perfect and I'm sure some words will slip out from time to time.

Not much new here! TN has been giving me some serious issues lately though :( We have decided to wait until Fall-ish to start adoption stuff. I feel good about that. We are trying to focus more on buying a house at the moment and then move onto adoption. Small vent: I am sick of people (Mostly IRL) trying to push foster care adoption on us. I think foster/adopt is a wonderful thing, but after a lot of discussion, DH and I have decided it's probably not the best path for us. Then I hear "but there are so many children waiting" and "the state will pay for it." Yes, but still not the right path. Vent over.

  • Sending all of you ladies so much love.

I curse like a sailor. (I wonder why) my favorite is the C word. I do not swear in front of children, although, I do say eff a lot and I need to quit that. Growing up we didn't swear and my parents didn't swear around us. Well, I swore around my friends because I'm a rebel without a cause!
  • Update: after my appointment Monday we are researching a new medicine, considering moving to injectables and trying gluten/dairy free for 6 months. Hopefully one of these combined with weight loss gets us a + but if not I really feel that DH is becoming open to adopting. QOTW it seems to be the f bomb lately but I am careful around kids (except our neice because her parents cuss like crazy anyhow)

  • @ystaalenburg - so sorry that this cycle has been such a long and difficult one. FX that your RE gets something worked out for you soon! BTW, I <3 those dresses!

All the best to the rest of you 3T ladies as well! I am so proud of those of you who are working hard to get your body healthy! Keep up the great work, love those updates!

For us... No updates. Waiting on AF, then will be starting supplements, charting, and OPK's and crossing everything that this helps us get our BFP.

    F-bomb, definitely.

To answer RAB's question, I absolutely watch my mouth around kiddos... DH on the other hand has a much harder time... He was also much less supervised as a child, which I think didn't help :). Not really sure how we'll address it with our own kid(s) yet, but I know DH has already said he probably won't care if they do as long as they're not disrespectful. We'll see.

  • I start Lupron tomorrow. I HATE the side effects and am nervous about them. I get like raging, angry mad.... And I have killer hot flashes. Awesome.

I saw an adoption counselor on Friday. It was very discouraging and made me feel like IVF just has to work. Has to. We'd planned on adopting from our state foster care system but after learning more and more, I don't think it's the best option for us (which sucks, because I love the idea). I now debate whether we'd adopt a newborn ($$$$$$) or do IVF again. I don't know. But it shouldn't matter because I need to just get KU with twins.

    QOTW: does "effing" count?

  • Update: I updated in a thread on Wed.
QOTW: I don't swear a lot, but I do enjoy shit when I'm frustrated. I do not plan on continuing this when we are fortunate enough to have kids.
FFC: I don't feel THAT bad for someone I know IRL who was told to not have another kid because of health issues. I know she was planning on trying again in the fall and is pretty upset. Part of not feeling bad is because she's not a nice person in general. I do feel bad that she was so upset, but she'd be the first person I know to get pregnant for the second time in the time we've been trying. I'd wallow in the unfairness of trying for so long while she had two. I'm awful, aren't I?
