Re: CPW - When DH Snores

  • On the rare occasions that he's really loud, I usually toss very heavily which usually startles him enough to change positions and stop snoring long enough for me to fall asleep.

  • Mine snores like a friggin' diesel engine! It's especially loud and obnoxious when he's sick.

Thankfully, he pretty much always stays up much later than I do, so I'm sound asleep by the time he comes to bed, and I never hear him.

If for some reason I do wake up and he's snoring like crazy, I'll try shifting around a lot to get him to wake up enough to move or at least stop for a minute. Most of the time, that's not terribly successful (he goes out cold in less than a minute; I take a while to drift off), and I just end up listening to it and trying to relax enough to just fall back to sleep.

  • My DH is a major snorer.  He generally goes to bed later than me, and I'm a heavy sleeper, so it's not a huge issue.  I also wear earplugs when I sleep, so I rarely have trouble.

If he's had a couple drinks or has a cold and it's particularly bad, I will wake him up and ask him to face away from me.

  • He snores occasionally but it never wakes me up. The good news is that I can sleep through anything once I'm asleep. If he snores before I fall asleep, I usually just nudge him enough to where he stops. He's not a loud snorer though and doesn't do it often anyway.

In Christ alone my hope is found. He is my LIGHT, my STRENGTH, and my SONG!

T-TTC since Dec 2008. PCOS/nonexistant cycles(anovulation) and endo. HSG in '10 revealed both tubes blocked. Lap surgery in Dec '10 to correct. Failed Clomid/IUI and injectable(Bravelle)/IUI cycles so far.

  • DH has sleep apnea, if he's snoring he either doesn't have his CPAP on or it isn't on right. So I have no shame in waking him up and telling him to straighten that shit out. I am a light sleeper so if for some reason it is leaking air and I can't sleep I just move out to the couch and then he feels horrible in the morning.

  • I constantly nudge him.  Usually if I nudge under his arm as if I'm trying to get him to roll over, he will roll over and the snoring quits long enough for me to fall asleep.

Lately, though, nothing has helped and I toss and turn and just get pissed.

  • H has been bad lately because of a cold and allergies, so I've had to try several different things lately.  It was so bad last week, I moved to the guest room and the next night he moved to the guest room.  Usually, I can nudge him or ask him to sleep on his side since he doesn't snore unless he's on his back.

  • I ignore it. He doesn't snore too loudly, but I ignore it because he wakes ME up all the damn time. I snore if I lay on my back, so he is always telling me to change positions. I tell him he snores and I ignore it, so he should do the same for me! I still insist I don't snore.

  • My Dh snores horribly and I cannot handle it. If I fall asleep first it's usually ok but if not I nudge him two or three times and if that doesn't work I'll move to the couch. He works late and doesn't get home until around 12:30am so about half of the week he will end up just watching tv in the living room and falling asleep on the couch. I can still hear him snore but from afar it's comforting lol.

  • My DH isn't too bad, but sometimes he will be snoring right in my ear. I usually nudge him, push him a little. He stops most of the time without waking up. But dang, when I cant sleep and he's snoring away it drives me nuts. Sometimes I will wake him up though, when he wont stop... lol

  • H will snore occasionally, and I just toss and turn and he will slightly wake up and move.  If it gets bad then he gets a nudge, and he'll roll over.

He used to have it really bad, but thankfully he realized how bad it was and tried losing weight.  He only lost 25 pounds, but it made a huge difference and now it only happens occasionally.  Or when he's been drinking.

  • Since DH works nights, it's really only on the weekends we're in the bed at the same time and even then, I go to bed before he does.

Every once in a while it will wake me up and usually if I just kind of shake him a bit, he'll roll over in his sleep and that'll make it stop.

  • All of the above?

It really depends on how loud and long the snoring has gone on.  It usually starts with a subtle back rub.  Then hellacious tossing and turning to get him to move positions.  Then a swift kick to the shin to get his ass to stop snoring.

Since he's lost 40 lbs, there are very few nights he snores now.  Usually when he's sick or been drinking.

  • H only snores when he's on his back which isn't very often.  But when he is, he typically is literally laying on top of me and it takes everything in me to get him off and rolled back on "his side" of the bed (read his 75-80% of the bed).
