Dog owners: how often do you vacuum?
And do you allow your dog(s) on the bed?
Re: Dog owners: how often do you vacuum?
Too often!!! If she wasn't afraid of the vacuum, I'd vacuum her too! She has short white hair and they just get stuck in everything. And yes, she is allowed on the couch and our bed - it was a habit she had before we adopted her and have not really tried too hard to break. Thankfully our duvet cover is white. We are working on training her not to jump up on the couch but it's not going to well!
One thing I think that I have found helps is if I vacuum on the diagonal. If I vacuum with the direction of the fabric, it just pushes the hair through the fabric but diagonal seems to pull out a little better.
I vacuum once every 2 weeks. But we have a lot of hardwood, so I also sweep/Swiffer pretty frequently.
We used to let the dog sleep with us, but now she is banned from the beds. She is permitted on the sofas - they are microsuede so her fur does not get stuck in the fabric.
She is a beagle so she sheds but not as much as some other dogs.
