so my H is very serious about our son being a jr. last night we were talking about it and I started throwing out other names that I liked and he got really upset. not angry upset but like hurt upset. He said, I want a jr. and if you don't then you can name him whatever you want because I won't care if he's not a jr.
I'm not really against him being a jr. I just thought there should be more discussion on the topic. and i'm not sold on everyone calling him Bear even though he... would have a real name to go by. if you don't remember my husbands name is Bernard which means bold as a bear, so my husband wants to name our son Bernard but call him Bear. my husbands nn is Ben. he went on to tell me that Bears were bold and courageous and why wouldn't we want that for our child...
I felt really terrible I upset him. I legit thought he might cry or something! I actually laughed because I didn't realize how serious he was.
So I think we're going to have a jr. my H will call him Bear and I think i'll call him Benny Bear or something..and at school he can write Ben or Benny on his papers and his friends can call him Bear if thats how it works out.
Re: I think we have a name!
Also, a note about NNs you might find yourself surprised by what just comes out of your mouth! DD's NN is Stinky because for some reason that is just what came out naturally...plus her name (Ava Nichol) doesn't really lend itself to an easy NN which is what I wanted.
Just a quick question because I am curious...why wouldn't he go by Bernard with a NN of Bear? Why Ben or Benny?
