  • Today will be my first day back at the gym.  Doing cardio and lifting for back, chest, and shoulders.  Looking forward to it!  I notice a huge difference in my anxiety when I exercise, so that will be nice.

  • I hope to get to the gym a few times this weekend.  Some light cardio - walking/arc trainer.  Kind of scared to lift much... I really need this bloating to go away, my pants are struggling.

    I am getting back into lifting because I was inspired by something I read recently.  It said something like "you don't get a back without bra bulge by doing cardio, you get that by lifting"...I was like you had me at "no bra bulge" LOL

  • BAHAHAH!  lifting is great all-around!  I used to do this full body curcuit at planet fitness...

    I just read no heavy lifting while pregnant.  I might stick with something using body weight, idk.  Maybe I'll research it at work. 

    But let's be honest - It'll be a miracle just going to the gym at this point.

  • Yeah good call on the lifting heavy while pg...and I love that circuit thing at planet fitness!  You don't have to even think about it.  People can tease about PF all they want but their gyms are nice and you can't beat the price.

    FOR REAL!  I didn't know people tease about it!  I love it!  I have a free gym at work, but it's so crowded and they have 20 min max on cardio machines when it's busy.  I'll pay the $10 to work out however long I want on my machines!

  • I think it's the "Do you even lift, brah?" crowd that does it.  There aren't any scales and everything is purple and friendly.  I was a hardcore athlete (swimming) for 10 years, trained around 5 hours a day, had some college scholarship offers, etc. so I understand training and I think PF is legit.  Hate on, haters!

  • Oh, there are defintely some defined lifters at my PF... Oh HELLO!  Purple is ok here in MD, since it's the Raven's color.

    Go Amanda and Evan!

    So, last week I kinda fell off track, but I'm getting back on it from here on out!  I'm going to push myself to work out tonight (Insanity) whether H does it with me or not.  Last week, I didn't eat horribly, but I definitely didn't do that great either.  Breakfast this morning is mango, pineapple and a couple Belvita crisps.  I've GOT to look good for my birthday and that's my motivation right now!

  • My goal: we are going on a vacation to Key West in May (where we went on our honeymoon) and I want to feel confident in a swim suit again.  I really don't have a lot of weight to lose per se, but I feel all jiggly and I am hoping my boobs will shrink just a bit.  

    We are going on vacation bc I want to have one more trip with just us before we ttc later this year :)

    I plan on getting a good and long workout tomorrow.  Tonight I have to get groceries, we are down to scraps at my house!
  • Did my usual 8 am gym session sat and sun morning, ill go Tues after work and then i prob wont be able to head back until Friday since i have a faculty meeting and 2 parent conferences lined up=(

    Eating has been going well except H and i were out running errands yesterday and i grabbed a bag of twizzlers, TOM is around the corner! I've lost 47 out of 60 pounds so far, i know my body will always be different after having the baby but my goal is an additional 10 and to continue lifting weights to keep muscle tone, i feel like the amount of time i put into lifting at the gym prior to being pregnant helped me bounce back so fast.

  • I'm proud of you, @mana8503!  I wanted to go but I was so tired after work I could hardly make it home.  I hope this passes, I really want to get back to the gym.
  • Have made it to the gym twice this week!  I'll be going tonight and Saturday as well.  Feeling good!

  • Made it to the gym yesterday on my lunch.  I just ran on the eliptical.  I've been walking my my 15 mintute breaks everyday, so at least I'm doing something.  I just haven't felt like working out lately, but you have to start back up somehow.  Plan on going down today on lunch too.  Not sure if I'll run or lift today.
